how far are we talking?

like 180hp far, or 120hp far?

I’m sure niall submitted a 201hp car? So it can’t be that bad surely.

I was going to submit something with 220hp when I realised that somehow I’m making the buyer spend as much on a car as for something that would be somehow a lot better…

how did you paint that roof and the sides. photoshop?

I would guess it is photoshopped, and the car is white as default. If you look at the last picture (the one with the LED) the roof is white

191 hp, I went for the Chevy impala style cruiser it’s not very powerful, but it’s very reliable, very cheap, and performance wise it’s basically on par with It’s IRL inspiration mid 7’s to 100kph midish 15’s in the 1/4 mile.

See that’s exactly what I was going for myself. And then Automation Fever took over :joy:

120 hp, rolling up that is. My inspiration was the Fiat Doblo and Ford Tourneo police vans you see in Spain, Turkey and a few other European countries, even though it’s going to tank in the speed rankings, hopefully the practicality saves me.

i’ll go with a big block v8 pushrod 6 liter 300 hp

ah, i see

I’ve made two screenshot of the car. One in blue, one in white, without moving the car in the meanwhile.
I’ve put one photo on the other end delete the upper one (white in this case) allowing the blue to be shown.

Do ya’ll forget that these cars have to be nimble and capable of hurtling down small streets and alyways?

4.0 is not too big for a 6-cylinder at all. I’d say that 4.5 is where it STARTS getting too big, but is still more or less ok  (after all I have a 4.2 V6 used for nearly everything possible for over 20 years) In general I consider 0.8l per cylinder as the upper limit of a reasonable size, no matter if it’s for 6, 8 or 12 cylinders. I3 and I4 are not smooth enough too make so big engines, so 3.3 I4… yeah, that sounds too big.

Good point, well made. In the previous round (which I hosted) I even cut a few entries just for having four- or six-cylinder engines which had too much swept volume per cylinder. A V6 with at least 5.0 litres of total displacement is just not refined enough in my view.

For the record, my 4.0-litre V8 makes 250 kilowatts on regular fuel, which equates to around 335 bhp - more than enough for the body and chassis type I went with. I could have made more, but wanted to strike a balance between power and running costs.

I think I’m running the 2nd lowest power engine. As I said, it’s meant to be an Omega/3 series competitor type thing so want to keep it nice and tame (and realistic but I dislike that word)…

It’s somewhat comical to see everyone bemoaning relatively low power outputs when the 2000 Ford CVPI 4.6L SOHC 2-valve Modular V8 made a whopping 215 HP in a 2-ton, full-sized sedan that usually weighed in at over 5000 lbs when fully equipped.

I mean, I went way higher than that, and paid the price for it in upfront costs (probably service costs too) and I honestly expect to be beaten by a cheaper and less powerful alternative. Reasonable power outputs just aren’t my style.

##Komodo Force Zeta

so we received your request for a quotation in the search for replacement of your police fleet vehicle. and just in time. we are on the final stage of preparing our new car to soon be introduced to the public. but if you want us to, we can make a special fleet edition vehicles just for your department.

since it was to be released this year, the car has all the best parts you can get for the price.

features including:

  • AHS monocoque steel basis and partial alu panels ensuring rust prevention for years to come while making the car much stronger for the weight class it’s in
  • a 4L V6 making just over 300hp, a massive +100hp improvement over the average of the current fleet while still being at least 70% more efficient because of the latest improvement in fuel injection technology
  • forged components parts inside the engine. because that’s is gonna be the one that takes the most abuse and wear. maybe slightly more expensive, but at the same time, it will give the cars longer service life between major maintenance.
  • DynaCam Technology, give you everything you want from an engine. powerful, efficient, and responsive.
  • full disc brakes system. some cars are still stuck on drums, but your officers know how bad they are after a whole day of driving around. so 300mm vented discs on the front and 240mm on the rear
  • 5 speed Sequential Gearbox. we all know, autos are comfortable and easy to drive. but that’s about it for what it’s good for. manuals are still more efficient, more controllable, and doesn’t suck up your engine power for nothing. now, the best of both worlds are here. you can just put in into auto mode, and it will drive like an auto, if you need the speed, you can put it down into manual mode and shift the gears via the paddle shift behind the wheels. all while giving manual transmission efficiency.

so what’s the bounty that you will have to pay for all of this?
$14630 per fleet car. so according to our calculation. you’ll be able to get 17 of this gem.
what does it cost to run?

for the civilian version,
we quote $2069/ year including insurance,
but since it’s for the police force, i’m sure that you can get it lower.
we also include a 5 year warranty for the car*
*terms and conditions apply

it also sips fuel at a rate as low as 27.6MPG.

that all sounds too good to be true you say?

well, don’t hold your breath. we like honesty. and that is to say, there is some compromises made of course.

  • first, although the car is tough, it is still smaller, it doesn’t have as much cargo space or just overall space inside.
  • secondly, to make the car this cheap, we had to cut back on creature comforts inside and give you what you need, but not much of what you want.
  • third. to get this level of efficiency from the engine we made it really good. that means 2 things. it shouldn’t break down often. and when it does… it’s gonna get a bit pricey.

but that’s about it for our offer.

P.S
we tested it on laguna seca.

P.P.S
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU
