ONE HOUR LEFT
I’m curious how much redline will factor into the scoring, but at least I know I won’t be the biggest loser if it is actually important.
I’d be doing pretty well as I have an engine that revs up to 10,000
I actually screwed up a bit because I discovered after submitting that I could have made a higher specific output engine, but I was confused because I switched to V8 (which can rev higher) after being rev limited by a V6 design. On the plus side, engine is more reliable, more economical and more drivable with lower RPM peak power.
I just hope that looks and the decisions made are more important than the numbers.
Oh I know I won’t win, but if anything I just want the laughs from seeing an Italians reaction to an all American minimuscle car when he asked for a purebred lightweight sports car
ahah your car has the only body that i haven’t downloaded from the workshop.
How fitting
YOU-A SO RACIST-A *ARM FLAILING*
I will relase soon the first reviews
Here the first ten car reviews! Probably i have made some mistake with the english…
@HighOctaneLove Bogliq Shelob Sport
A nice looking car, in the traditional bogliq blue, nice sleek body styling and fixtures, it’s a mid engine coupè, with a GAM chassis and Alu panels, it’s also light at 1048kg.
it’s sporty to drive thanks to the pushrod suspension, but suffer only a bit of understeer.
talking about the engine, it’s a small 1.6L DOCH L4 producing only 159hp and 159Nm, but has a nice linear power band and good response to throttle input (63.3).
The 6MT has very long gear, the car reach the top speed in 4th.
It’s fun to drive and corner well, but its too silent and it’s underpowered, the performance are mediocre with 7.1s and 220km/h ATT: 2’26.65
Design: 8/10
I will take an eye on it…
@Mikonp7 ORKAN V2
Well, it’s a bit strange car, the design is interesting, but the front end it’s strange…
Wait! this car it’s a lot heavy! 1525kg for a 4.13m coupè? maybe it’s due to the AWD transmission… Nice to see four seats, but it’s pretty basic inside, it’s solid and very safe in case of crash.
Under the bonnet there’s a 2.5 L6 24v good for 231hp and 251Nm, i have read on the ads that this engine feature a billet crankshaft! a strange choice for the relative low power. Behind the wheel the Orkan v2 feel safe and stable, the engine it’s very reactive (66.2), the peak power come at 7400rpm, after that there’s a drop, so reach the rev limiter it’s pointless. the car it’s neutral, but the weight compromise the driving experience and the performance, in fact it takes 7.3s for 0 to 100km/h the same time of a 500 Abarth… the ATT it’s completed in 2’24.99s
Design: 7/10
@NormanVauxhall FLYING FISH SPRINT-R
This one seems a '90 key-car from Japan! very small, maybe too small, and light (965kg), i like the styling, its funny. Under the tiny bonnet, there’s a huge engine for the size! 2.0 L4 30v producing 248hp @9100rpm and 215Nm of torque, the engine feature racing solution like 5v per cilinder, billet Crank and lightweight pistons and it’s coupled with a 7DCT… what a shame, they didn’t put a manual option…
Time to test driving, this thing it’s fast! like proper fast! only 4.4s and 290km/h pure madness on a 3.4m car. It’s agile and neutral, but the 16" 205mm rear tires have to work hard putting down the power, and the brakes are a bit undersized. This car it’s stupidly fun and crazy! I’ve read that laps the ATT in 2’12.89, impressive!
It’s on the list!
Design: 8/10
@titleguy1 SXT 1.8T
Beautiful design, i like both the front and the rear end, also the colour remind me of the British racing green, a shade that i love, only the wheels seems a bit undersized for the body. It’s four seats coupè with an exotic GAM chassis, covered with Alu panels, but isn’t very light at 1312kg.
The engine is a 1.8l L4 16v Turbo made from Aluminium, the specs of this engine aren’t very exiting… It’s rated at 177hp @5800rpm and 252Nm of torque, the high torque it’s due to the long stroke construction that limit the revs at only 6500rpm. Driving the SXT you can feel the low responsive of the engine (36.5) and you can’t hear anything coming from the exhaust, the suspension are voted to comfort… the performance are mediocre: 6.8s, 253km/h and 2’28.95 on the ATT. It’s a shame because the car itself it’s good and really deserve a more sporty, powerful engine united with better suspension and a LSD, it woul’d be great!
Design 8.5/10
@TR8R FOA SABRE
A modern reinterpretation of the original Lotus Seven? I like it! the front-end looks sharp and aggressive, the rear it’s more simple but works good.
This thing has to be light! Only 3.42m with GAM chassis and aluminium panels. Mhm…1144kg
it’s not very lightweight for it’s size, probably due to the advanced Safety features or to the premium interior and infotainment! who want such comfort and technology in a car like this? Pop the hood and i like what i see! an 1.9 L6 24v made from Alsi, the internals are a bit exotic Billet crank, titanium conrods and lightweight pistons. It’s rated at 200hp @8800rpm and 194Nm. Driving the Sabre the first thing that i’ve noticed was the sound, what an awesome sound! the engine it’s good too, but there’s a bend in the power at >6500rpm. The Chassis it’s good, the grip it’s only limited by the 195mm tires, but
i think the suspension are a bit too artificial. Performance are good with 5.7s and 218km/h (it’s a brick)
the ATT it’s completed in 2’22,80s.
Maybe i can buy this and strip the interiors…
Design 7.5/10
@DoctorNarfy SHROMET RADIANT HILLCLIMB SPECIALE.
Ok the name it’s a bit unpronounceable, but the car it’s nice it’s modern but not overdesigned
it’s a four seats hatchback, seems spacious inside, but with no infotainment at all, strange on a modern hatch. The cabin it’s spacious because the 2.0 L6 24v engine it’s transversally mounted with FWD!
The L6 is capable of 238hp and 282Nm of torque, tanks to the turbocharger, but revs at only 6900rpm, the cast internals can’t withstand more… At low rpm there’s little power, but when the turbo spool at 2800rpm there’s plenty of torque, the trust decrease at high rpm. The geared LSD helps the front wheels to put down power, but there are some torque reactions at the steering wheel which isn’t servo assisted!
The car it’s light at 1154kg but has a moderate understeer, surely it’s capable with 5.5s, 243km/h and a ATT time of 2’19.80s
but the driving experience…
Ah, the fuel consumption is great! and seems reliable.
Design 7/10
@conan S47 2000GT
A nice coupé with four seat and lot of space! I like the design, even if it’s a bit anonymous and standardized. it’s longer than the other car, but the weight isn’t excessive at 1308kg, it feature McPherson and Multilink suspension and a nice 6MT, the interior are basic, with a lot of crap black plastics… Under the bonnet there’s a lot more refined engine! a 2.0 30v L4 made from magnesium! The engine produce 202hp@8200rpm and 215Nm but there’s a bend at 6000rpm, good responsiveness. I expect more from a 5v per cylinder engine…
Behind the wheel the car feels neutral but isn’t real fast, it seems slower than his numbers: 5.9s and 250km/h, in fact the ATT lap times is 2’24.51
P.S i have read that the S47 it’s very reliable.
Design 7/10
@DeusExMackia ERIN NARDELLA X 2.0
Mhm Erin, I have read nice review of this cars, And this one seem pretty good too! i l like the styling! especially the front end, with the thin headlight, on the rear end, i think the exhaust are a bit too small…
Well GAM chassis and Alu panels, this car it’s light! 1145kg.
Under the long bonnet there’s a 2.0 L4 16v Alu engine, good for 214hp @ 8200rpm, and 206Nm of torque, sent trough a 6MT with Viscous LSD. Now i want to drive it! the engine feel sporty and reactive, the noise it’s nice, a bit suffocated, the seats are great! It’s fun to drive with good suspension and balance, but when you ask too much from the 205mm front tires, the car tend to understeer a bit.
The performance are good, 5.7s 250km/h and a ATT lap time of 2’20.98s
With some fine tuning on engine and suspension the Nardella would be awesome to drive, it also deserve a better LSD
Design: 8/10
@Madrias DYNAMITE Y8
This car remind me of a poor copy of the Ferrari F355, one of my all time favourite car!
The rear end it’s nice, but the car itself it’s a bit strange…
Woah there’s a Flatplane V8! 2.8 32v it would be a pain doing services on this engine…
anywhere, the V8 produce 246hp @7900rpm, and 256Nm, redline at 9000rpm
I want to drive it! the interior are pretty basic, but i want to hear the engine! Mhm… a bit disappointing,
has good power at low rpm, a linear power band, but it lacks grunt at high rpm, i have the feeling that the engine it’s choked. On a twisty road the Dynamite it’s fast! with ton of grip, but has problem called understeer! maybe because of the huge 275mm rear tires, and the near zero front camber…
However the acceleration is great! only 4.6s, but “only” 239km/h. On the ATT stops the chrono at 2’15.51s
Design 6.5/10
ABG7 CBX6 COUPE
It’s green! super bright green! and it’s cross-eyed… not a big fan of the styling
However, there’s a lot to talk about the engine! a 2.0l L6 24v producing 244hp @9000rpm and 214Nm of torque, redline at 9400rpm. It’s a screamer! i love the character of this engine, has a Vtec style bump in power at 6000rpm and keep pushing until the rev limiter! the power is sent to the rear wheels trough a 6MT coupled with a geared LSD. On the road the car feel stable and engaging to drive, but i want a louder exhaust, good cornering capabilities, neutral without understeer, only penalized by the 205mm tires. Also straight line performance are good 5.5s and 255km/h, with an ATT lap time of 2’19.55s.
I had good times driving the CBX6, but the car deserve a louder exhaust and wider tires.
Design 6.5/10
Pssst… the BMMA Flyingfish it’s a V6
I’m impressed the Flying Fish can pull that sort of time on the ATT, especially without widening the track of the car. I guess it makes up for ‘low’ lateral acceleration with high top speed/acceleration?
@Leedar Here the details (sport compound tyres)
If I bring down the top speed to 210 km/h I’ll get 2:14.02 on the ATT
Oh, lateral acceleration is quite high. I’ve had trouble getting high g with that body, without sacrificing some other qualities. But yes, straight line speed is also excellent.
Presenting the Mott Works Apollo ST
Powered by a 140hp, turbocharged 1 liter I4 that revs to 10K rpm this performance spec city car can work great out in the country as well. With the rear engine, rwd, drive train acceleration is as fast as 6.5s to 60mph with no traction issues. Also this car should be great for country roads as it is extremely lightweight at just 2100lbs and this low weight also helps it achieve great economy ratings of nearly 55mpg.
A curious thing about challenges like this (unless you are doing a full roleplay with a non-optimised car) is the battle between marketing numbers (peak engine power, redline, 0-100 km/h, etc.), ‘real world’ numbers (track times) and driving feel (torque curve, gearbox type, gear spacing, cornering behaviour, etc.). It is practically impossible to satisfy all three. I suppose this is mirrored in the real world of performance cars as well.
Excellent start to the reviews - keep up the good work!
