Now with 13 vibration modes!
And fold flat vinyl seats that are removable to hose down
Oh, I know I’m not going to win this one. Wouldn’t be the least surprised if I’m basically one of the first 3 eliminated from consideration again. I need to stop doing these bloody gimmick cars and come up with a strategy instead.
I’m glad this challenge has sparked so much discussion
A big thanks to everybody who took the time to contribute. There are more than twenty contestants to review and rate and I’m happy to see there is enough variety to fully cover koolkei’s Value Triangle from earlier.
There has been a fair bit of back and forth between myself and several of you regarding external fixture mods and I’m aware of how much work has been involved in getting some cars to comply with the posted rules. The time spent on verification and correspondence has also driven home quite well how much work is involved in running a challenge.
I think we can conclude for the future that where looks are a part of the challenge, Base Game+HQE does not provide enough selection to satisfy everybody’s artistic endeavours, so I’ll know to keep that in mind. For the purpose of this current challenge, I have kept you strictly to the rules as they were posted and feel it was the right choice for a level, fair playing field, since entries started flowing in as soon as the proverbial bell rang.
I will try to get the final cars scrutineered today-tomorrow and attempt to get the reviews and conclusion together over the weekend. I may not have the time, so it may run over into the next week.
Meanwhile, I’ll expand on the judging criteria just a little:
1.) Oh yeah - based on the exterior looks of the car and how well they would suit the subjective executive taxi vision of the character I am portraying.
2.) Lavishness - the interior looks of the car and material quality.
3.) Decadence - a derivative of Comfort, to answer whether one could eat grapes in this by dangling the branch over their face while their chauffeur was lapping Porsches on the 'ring.
4.) Bounty - internal space per passenger, with modifiers for cargo space per passenger and number of seats past 5.
5.) Green - a derivative of Prestige, or a study the colour of your more economically minded peers’ faces when you pass them on the way to Prezdulbu.
6.) Delicacy - a derivative of Safety, because crashing in comfort is very executive.
7.) Stamina - a derivative of Engine and Average Reliability.
8.) Canvas - the cold hard truth of purchase, upkeep and service costs.
9.) Snap - airport traffic slalom, or lap time on Conan’s AutoX track.
10.) Moxie - the full throttle thrash at Green Hell.
3.) Decadence - a derivative of Comfort, to answer whether one could eat grapes in this by dangling the branch over their face while their chauffeur was lapping Porsches on the 'ring.
The regrets for a firm suspension are very real right now
The regrets for not tuning the suspension to tracks, 7.44 on GH probably won’t cut it and lost 25 seconds with easy tuning, probably another 15 hidden in there
I just ran my car around green hell and got a 7:46.7 after 4 minutes of loading. That 760hp is really held back by the 4383lbs of land yacht.
I should’ve used turbos and made a monster… 8:13.94 around Green Hell.
Mine’s is running 7.49.9 with a “mere” 600hp. That’s actually faster than a Gallardo LP 560 or a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. That should be enough to scare every passenger to death.
602bhp is about double the output of my Estrada, but then again mine has a focus on driving ease and luxury.
why are you running so much power and weight, I’m using luxury interior on the Estrada Karhma with 301 bhp NA V6 and mine weighs under 4k, about 3.2-3.5klbs
I’ve had a look through the latest submissions and everything seems to be as it should. I will enter the cars into my excel and post a full list to confirm hopefully tomorrow.
Im not sure. The engine alone does weigh 633lbs from alsi block and head ad body and chassis are both made of aluminum. My only thought is that the body itself is heavy, partly due to its size but also due to the age of it, other than that i have no idea.
Ooh. Im gonna get PLENTY of that BOUNTY baby… Wooooot
I am not feeling too hot about my entry now, I thought it was stupid fast but it’s not stupid fast enough. I guess my “modernized” DOHC twin-turbo, direct-injected big block needs some work.
But the challenge isn’t only about speed. Mine has less than 500 hp and weighs almost 2 tonnes, but I’ve got the 7 premium seats in there with lots of cargo space. Just depends what you decide to focus on the most.
Yeah in fact only one of the criteria is purely about speed.
And as you know Strop deliberately tweaked the bid in this manner in an act of passive-aggressive rebellion against the manager
to be honest im curious why people choose sedan over wagon/van/SUV. i know sedan have weight advantage which more easy to hit sub 8 minutes lap times even with luxury interior. however sedan cargo space is rather limited compared to big body car. im not comparing sedan vs wagon passenger space yet but i assume they dont have big difference.
and big engine with fancy internal parts seems also hurt maintenance cost and overall price plus hard to get wanted power curve because cant rev to high(or maybe im just like high reving engine)
my wagon initially planned to use road version engine of my AMWEC GT class engine which have super fancy internal. but even with some engine retune and playing quality slider its hard to get result i want without causing problem, mostly about fuel economy and price is the problem
