It gets around Green Hell in around 7:45, I didn’t spend much time tuning for the track, especially since lots of downforce kinda tanks the mpg lol. And yes, VVL and low-pressure turbocharging are my bread and butter.
Thank god for that.
Yeah, I do actually hope I’ve got the fastest car. Not that being fast is everything… but it is important to me at least
Basically, if starting at the start line of Nordschleife, by the time those cars round the long curve of Aremberg, I’d be on my way out of the Foxhole. By the time you get to Kesselchen, I’ll probably be out of sight. My aim was to keep pace with a 458.
VVL low pressure turbocharging was a more recently discovered thing for me: the ability to have decent fuel economy and massive outputs? It too now forms the bread and butter of my economy line hypercars.
TBH when I saw this weeks round I wasn’t really looking forward to it as I genuinely don’t like this style of car and now its turned out to be one of the largest rounds we’ve had and I’m not expecting to do well, low comfort from only having premium interior options and slow tracks times due to weighing 4000+lbs combined with very low economy even with vvl and 15:1 afr but i guess thats the result of using a massive V8 motor.
Well, you could say that this is the round in which one discovers why Lamborghinis are so thirsty: big and fat and high output and no forced induction.
I’m well down on comfort too, actually. Premium interior myself. I just can’t bring myself to use luxury most of the time.
thx. but i decided to just redo the whole car. it wasn’t exactly satisfiying anyway.
i’ll TRY to get an ad done.
@strop. VVL low pressure turbo, and don’t fogot alsi block inline engine. how did you think i won the american road trip challenge that was the highest hp per mpg car i’ve EVER made.
and yes. here i am with an inline 6 engine
I haven’t revisited the i6 in a while, actually. It used to lack turbo capacity for high boost applications due to being single scroll and also having limited turbine size due to low bore.
I expected to be in significant trouble since my car only has 580 hp (For which I had to resort going 1.5 bar of boost…yeah), but it went around in 7:40…can’t complain then I guess. But then again, I love Inline 6’s because they are efficient and spool relatively quickly (for some reason), buuuut my prestige isn’t all that great for having a relatively small 6 cilinder engine. Not exactly an exciting engine to have either, just blatant efficiency.
Damn that’s fast, but not that much faster, I should have gone v12 and sequential double clutch. I suspected only 600hp wouldn’t be enough and that flatcrank and 6speed stick cost me some comfort…
The Magnitude gets around slowly cause it’s lugging around almost 2200kg of weight! Try as you might, but it’s very difficult to add comfort without lots of weight.
I actually had a luxury minivan with 54 comfort and about 1800kg, but only half the horsepower
The main challenge was a) my preferred body didn’t have very wide tyres, and the not-BMW body has terrible aerodynamics = terrible fuel economy (but it was faster around the track) b) for 33k and seating 5 in comfort you can’t use very fancy building materials if you want a good engine, so have an over 2 ton pig. I could shave a couple more seconds off by setting camber to -3 degrees apiece but that’d probably be a bit much…
My interpretation of the challenge was that if you’re too comfortable, you really won’t be able to appreciate the speed. It’s like riding the TGV: you can do 300+ km/h and almost feel like you’re not moving at all. That’s great if you want to sleep on the train, but not so great if you want an actually exciting drive through the splendour of Blomozvakia.
Yeah, you’ll probably crush me in comfort
“about half” of 900 still is 450 xD Could’ve made an interesting entry aswell, not to mention it probably had 7 seats?
@strop what kind of entertainment did you use then? I found it a very difficult budget to fit anything luxury into.
Standard LOL. Premium was really friggin expensive. And heavy. And that’s the difference between most entries and mine… and why mine goes about 14-15 seconds faster.
I’d rather credit that to the massive 1000 hp engine you managed to shoehorn in xD and erm, GG’s chassis wizardry
It’s not that big It’s far from the largest here, in fact I think it’s only 6.0L.
Damn heavy though, even after AlSi, thanks to all that turbo and VVT-L business.
Compared to my puny 2.8L most of this competition is big
Well, V engines in general are pretty heavy considering the dual exhaust and their layout. Especially in modern years all the small bits of weight add up so quickly…
sooo… from
THIS
to
THIS
which one is worse?
it’s horrendous either way anyway.
soo i went with a HUGE 5.1L inline 6 making a measly 602HP
with stats worse than average. even with premium interior and luxury entertainment.
weighing almost as much as phale’s car. and only doing 8:31 on green hell
the only saving grace is. you could have a quickie foursome while waiting for that 8:31 since the back is so huge.
4825L+1203L spaces FTW.
Sorry, the bottom one uses Razyx indicator lights, no? They aren’t in the HQE pack!
Also I’m not sure that bottom grille is either.
which one? i made sure the grilles at least, are in the modpack.
i think the lights are vanilla. even if it isn’t, fudge it. don’t have time. i’m going to go to bed soon-ish and it’s already past deadline, as long as the car runs.
i know it won’t win this round anyway. i felt way too much of
i think its just chrome strips and the vanilla led lights
Now that, I think, is a totally untapped market. Mobile orgy rooms whilst racing around a track. Congratulations.
