The Car Shopping Round (Round 64): Tears in Heaven

The front end of this car looks like a Tesla, take the front body colour lines and you will see what I mean

You’re right, it actually does! One of the older ones, not the upcoming ā€˜facelifted’ one.

Dragotec Helios R

ā€œSooo, track taxi, right right, well, we got a sedan here…It got big wide tyres and a wing that flaps all fancy when needed? Ooh, and its engine is quite small, but when you press down the throttle it goes all PSSHWOOOSH! All built very fancily and strong, and cause its small it doesn’t use all that much fuel either. Oooh, and the back seats got these 5 piece seating belts? Seemed odd to me at first, but when the driver was going like really really fast, I learnt to appreciate them very quickly…Wait I know, I’ll just book a test drive for you, okay? I’ll be right back!ā€

(Yeahhh, having students fill in for car salesmen hasn’t exactly worked out for us lately)

When I first when to see the power you were making I thought it said it peaked at 200rpm and was just like…What?

C’mon man, boat engine swaps are for another competition :stuck_out_tongue:

The 2015 Pearlite Magnitude is an exercise in restrained excess. By excess, we mean 7.5L of displacement, 900 horsepower, and 0-60 in just 3.1 seconds. By restrained, we mean a comfortable and smooth ride, a spacious interior for 5, and an impressive 21mpg considering the car’s output. If you want a car that blends refined luxury and no-holds-barred muscle without compromise, the Pearlite Magnitude is the only option.

This is gonna be one hell of a big round. And there’s still a day left until entrants close!

Well there goes my confidence as everyone seems to be entering sport wagons instead of suv’s

No worries, there are more of us, let’s just bump them around a little in our bulldozers

That’s if you can even catch me loooooool :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

okay. requesting help. can’t find the mod source or name.

does anyone know what’s or whos the maker of the oval shaped stripes, and main grille?

Error good question. I think the oval shaped stripes were @Weasel , but reupped by @Razyx

Note that those headlights don’t seem to be either vanilla or HQE. I’m having the same problem, to the point I’m going to end up with a car that looks nothing like I intended

i already got the rest, but only the main grille and the stripes is the only ones that i can’t find the link to.

This is why I withdraw my car! I’d rather not enter than have something I hadn’t designed at point of submission.

Same problem, I had to resubmit the one I posted here because nonHQ mods. Not the car I wanted to be. And it’s also too expensive, so no win for me this round.

I’m glad I posted my picture when I did. The car I finally managed to submit (which I hope passes the rules), is but a distant memory from that lovely visage. Well, it’s a poor imitation, really. What I had to do to the rear end was much worse.

Also I’m looking at @phale’s stats and am seriously worried. How the hell do you fit a 7.5L V12 putting out 900bhp with those other stats into a car that retails for 33000 @ 10% markup maximum? Especially the 21.4mpg. That part just boggles my mind.

It was at 24mpg… then I decided the cooling flaps weren’t worth it :stuck_out_tongue:

You must be running 4 valve VVT-L. That’s the only reasonable explanation, because at those displacements and weights, the best you’d manage with a 5 valve setup would be something like 15-16mpg, and that’s running zero downforce and some serious overdrive.

Actually if I recall correctly I think I’m running VVT-L too. So that means that your prestige boost comes from the V12, which, in the current build, is actually OP in terms of cost (don’t worry, that’s getting fixed). And the comfort will be better because you’re running a lot smoother with a lot less boost (I’m running 1 bar from a 6L V8… you might even be running only 0.6bar). The main other challenge is somehow managing to keep your other costs down. So the main question is, I wonder how your car performs around the track. If my car doesn’t spank yours by a decent margin, I’ll have made some abysmal engineering choices somewhere!

@koolkei the main grille is VMO’s

Wow… My 7:44 ring time sounded good before, now I know I’ll be back of the pack with these crazy cars.
