The previous generations of Pilati Invicta lack fully detailed interiors - a symptom of there being too few interior mod fixtures available in 4.2. Then again, that might explain why a fully detailed interior will not be required, or even judged.

It wasn’t easy making an update of the Invicta, considering it looked a bit dated for a 2000s car. We figured that was probably a factor in the bankruptcy of Pilati. But I think the Etherea MC design and engineering division just about pulled off reimagining the Invicta to the 21st century. Also, a predicted 400kph+ top speed helps along with its 5.5 liters per 100km. The price is expected to be a smidge under 100k but Pilati gets the final word on pricing as well as engineering.

I agree. The third-generation car should have been launched three to four years earlier, and the same could also apply to its two predecessors, albeit to a lesser extent.
Could we see some other modern Pilatis for some design cues?
I will admit my design skills for anything not modern aren’t the best (well that’s why I’m judging a modern design comp lol) so apologies if it seems the years don’t match up. However, that shouldn’t be an issue if you can identify the prominent design cues present in all 3 generations shown and evolve them into something suitable for 2018, and the IRL examples provided should also help you with other aspects of modern design.
The brief for this challenge is that you are creating the modern Pilati. Pilati plans to start with reviving the flagship Invicta and the design will trickle down to other models in the future. Again, the aim is to evolve Pilati’s design cues present in previous generations for the modern age.

But the other two cars do look of their time and they are fantastic! Sorry if the phrasing was a bit harsh, it isn’t a bad design just a bit off the mark IMO in terms of the competitors in 2002 when compared to the 2003 viper, 2002 575M, etc.
Oh btw, should we make the car more realistic in regards to the competition in 2018 do you reckon? Or should we go ham and make something more futuristic?
Also, is this car for the American market? If it is I need to change the colour of the indicators to amber.
The design should be more production-ready rather than a concept, however it’s fine if it ends up looking a little ahead of its time as long as it’s believable.
Pilati does plan to enter the US market with the new Invicta, but they don’t mind doing all the regulatory adaptations themselves. So you can either design your proposal with the US market in mind or leave it up to Pilati.
