TBH, the T-body was a worldwide project. However, its roots could be traced to Opel since most of the engineering was lifted from the earlier Ascona and Kadett models (and the T-body also ended up as the Opel Kadett C). Isuzu’s version was called the Gemini (and was also sold in the US as the Buick Opel by Isuzu). Mechanically, the US Chevette is closest related to the Isuzu, though, since it uses an Isuzu engine.
