The Humble Bundle initiative

Hello everyone, I’ve been following the development of Automation since a long time. I just registered to suggest that maybe you could get some visibility -and some cash- by putting the game in a humble bundle.

If you haven’t heard of it: Humblebundle.com every once in a while puts up a bunch of games made by indie developers, like you (I think), for sale.
The good part: There is no fixed price, you pay what you want. There are no minimum or maximum limits. In addition, you can choose to offer the money you paid to charities.

I’ve bought all of them (the bundles) since the second came out, because it’s bloody hard to say no when someone offers you a bunch of excellent games for any price you want. If that in itself is not enough, the money can go to charities… think about it, it’s similar to Rockethub, except it’s much better. In my opinion, at least :unamused:

I have no idea about the requirements for a game to be eligible, but in the most recent HIB, they threw in a couple of prototypes. You could develop a build that’s solid enough to make a car. Just to put yourselves out there.

Oh and please consider the Wine implementation mentioned in the other forum thread, I have a mac, and besides, the HIB statistics show the most generous donors use Linux

Greetings from Italy,

PS: Introversion software, the guys that put their games in the latest bundle, mentioned they sold more copies of their game darwinia in the first 45 minutes after the humble introversion bundle went live, than its entire lifespan! Consider it will still be on sale for some 12 more days…

Cool 2CV sir

Why thank you! Eventually I’ll brag about it in a my ride thread
Care to elaborate on your Conan hatch?

Anyway just to be clear, maybe my post sounded like spam/advertisement, I guarantee you it is not. I really care about automation and want it to gain the exposure it deserves!

It’s basically a 75% size Volvo PV444 with DKW 30hp engine. :stuck_out_tongue:

(You can also check out the Live Chat in front page somewhere)

I think talking to the Humble Bundle guys once the game is finished is definitely an idea worth considering… maybe even do that first, and then release properly with normal pricing? (if you do it the other way around, people may feel cheated)
