TMCC19 - Rock Baby, Rock!

I believe this is just visually, not for the engineering?

Yes, getting the elephant out of the room, the entire challenge will NOT rely on Automation stats.

I’ve updated the OP with a couple more footnotes, and an update to the Rules and Scoring sections by making the descriptions slightly more clearer and dividing the Rules up into areas that I can add onto later for more clarity.
A couple more bikes* have been added to the inspiration, two more Hondas:

  • Super Cub MD90
  • Honda CT110

If anyone has more ideas, feel free to toss them and I can add them as an inspiration if deemed fitting enough.

also fixed the CSS because the background was too short vertically to handle how long the thread was getting lmao

Op sorry I anger-posted. Clearly after thinking it over, I realized I was projecting my own issues with the concept. Ie I have no idea how to make a motorcycle in this game. So, that’s on me and I’m eager to see how this even works. Thx

That’s OK. It is just that this game is becoming much more versatile that anyone would have thought from the start. Intended as a bussiness sim more or less I guess (a modern version of “Detroit” if you’re old enough to remember that game), it has turned into a versatile tool instead. Some people (like me) likes to do world building around their fictive companies, some people likes to do cars that are fun to drive in Beam and others like to push the limits by using 3D fixtures to do complete cars or even non car-related stuff like this. As long as we respect each other it’s all fine, right?

100% yep

Finally, the best bike in Australia got added. And with an image from some top tier weebshit too :^)

I most likely will not enter, too much 3D, but thought it might be fun to try make a bike anyway, so my question is:
image
How do I get rid of this? Alternatively, is there a way to make it a 2 wheeler other than by advanced trim settings?

Edit: Is there a motorcycle body mod that solves this problem? I remember there being a bike mod but I never used it

You’ll likely need to use a combo of both wheel offset and track width.

that works, thanks

Uh. This closes soon, so I’ll remind people this exists.

Tis a bike. It was painful. Very painful.

This may be your first time making a motorcycle (or anything other than a car, truck, van or HGV for that matter) in Automation, but you pulled it off. So if the challenge as a whole is called “The TV/Movie Car Challenge”, shouldn’t this round be called “TV/Movie Motorcycle Challenge”? Anyway, on looks alone, that bike looks like it’s a legitimate contender for the final round of judging at the very least.

SO-250 '70

Standing for "Sanekiyo Ōtobai", or "Sanekiyo Motorcycle" in English, the SO series encompasses "standard" motorcycles made by Sanekiyo, even before such a designation began to exist with the advent of faired motorcycles.

The SO-250 in particular was introduced in 1970 as a successor to the mid-century SO-100, which had a 100 cc two-stroke single-cylinder engine. Unlike its contemporaries, the SO-250 preserved its predecessor’s single-cylinder layout, albeit in the form of a new, more durable four-stroke design that used less oil. This core engine design, as well as the SO-250’s frame, was shared with its larger-displacement sibling, the triple-powered SO-750. Although somewhat overbuilt by 250 cc standards, this full duplex cradle frame proved an attractive platform for powertrain upgrades.

With around 18,000 kilometres on the odometer, this particular SO-250 is a stock example in Kiken White with a factory Hareyaka Blue stripe on the fuel tank and an optional factory luggage rack. While the paint and stripe decals have held up fairly well, the same can’t quite be said for the leather seat and numerous chrome-finished parts. As a precaution, new front brake pads, rear brake shoes, and classic-style tires have been installed. This is an over-50-year-old bike, after all.

Asking ₱36,000
Power 15.8 hp @ 6,900 RPM
Torque 18.5 Nm @ 4,600 RPM
Curb Weight 162 kg
Displacement 249 cc
Valvetrain SOHC 2V
Cooling Air cooling
Intake 1 x 1-barrel Yokuni carburetor
Transmission 5-speed manual
Tires 3.00Q-18 (Standard Inch System)
Brakes Front single-piston disc, rear drum

Deadline extended until the timer ends because I’m an idiot, so enjoy the extra day if you’re still interested, or maybe spend it spam pinging me on discord to extend the deadline more. tehe

Congratulations to @The_Stig_Is_A_Spy for being the only entrant of TMCC!

Although the circumstances surrounding my first challenge victory were far from ideal, I’m still thankful for the opportunity to host a challenge, and to @variationofvariables for hosting this round as well.

Since this’ll be my first time hosting, I’m hoping for TMCC20 to be ready within a week.
