TMCC36 - Razor’s Edge
Honolulu, July 2024
After the lengthy writer and actor strikes of 2023, The Network has decided to pursue the reboot of one of their historic shows, “Razor’s Edge”. Following a recently discharged Marine named James Mitchell, Razor’s Edge thrusts Mitchell into the seedy criminal underworld on The Big Island, working as a fixer for those who pay top dollar. The original series from the 80s used a Bizzaro Corvo 7000 as its hero car, but times have changed, and now The Network is looking for a fast and stylish supercar to be the hero in the rebooted Razor’s Edge.

Techpool
All entrants are allowed 100M in total techpool budget. This is the sum of the total car and engine techpool values, as shown in the above screenshot.
If you’ve had trouble with techpool exporting incorrectly in the past, you may include a screenshot of your techpool values in the same DM as your submission- I will then compare the in-game numbers to the numbers listed in the screenshot, and will edit them if necessary. However, if you do not send a screenshot of your techpool values and they end up incorrect- or if the values in your included screenshot are also wrong, you will be binned.
Negative techpool is not allowed.
Styling Guide
-
All cars must look road legal; as in they should have headlights and taillights, turn signals, wipers, etc etc. In short, it should look like a car that could feasibly exist - a good looking one at that as per the priorities in the next section.
-
Advanced trim settings are allowed- however, you are not allowed to make the car look like something that it isn’t using them.
-
There are no limits on downforce, but keeping in mind that I am not looking for track cars, do try to keep it reasonable.
Priorities
Design
As a hero car, The Network wants something that’s well designed and looks stunning from any angle. Something that looks slapped together and poorly made, need not apply.
OOC - I seriously urge people to take their time with designs, I’m giving you plenty of time to work on a design, and I’m not requiring you to split your focus and do an interior either. I’ve been accused of weighting design too heavily without outright saying it before, so I’m gonna cut the nonsense and make it clear from the jump.
Realism
OOC- This is a very unrestricted brief, both in terms of budget and in techpool. However, I still want to see cars that would feasibly exist, with engineering choices that make sense for the kind of car that you’re making. Furthermore, I do not want to see Chirons, Jeskos, etc etc. This isn’t the brief for that - and it isn’t the brief for track specials like the Bolide, the Senna and such either. Be smart with the decisions that you make, because I reserve the right to bin anything I feel is unrealistic or off brief.
Performance/Sportiness
The Network wants something that’s properly quick and looks fast, even standing still. Outright speed and acceleration are of equal importance, as is handling and responsiveness.
I will be judging this stat not just based on the numerical sportiness value, I will also be looking at the car’s actual performance statistics as well.
Drivability
While the stunt driver on set is a very talented driver and capable of handling a lot, The Network doesn’t want a car that’s arduous and rough to drive either.
Prestige
The Network wants a car that’s prestigious and luxurious, and they don’t want something that could potentially take away from the show and The Network’s image.
Comfort
The Network doesn’t want to stress out the talent and the crew of the show, and having a car that isn’t horrible to ride in goes a long way in ensuring that.
Reliability
The Network pays out good money to well-trusted and well-trained mechanics, but they don’t want a car that’s in and out of the shop, as it could throw off shooting schedules.
Safety
The Network wants to avoid someone getting seriously hurt or even killed on set, so having a safe car in the event of an accident is very important.
Service Costs
The Network’s execs are aware that supercars aren’t known for being cheap to fix, and have set aside plenty of money to take care of any service costs that might come up.
Value
The Network is putting a lot of money into the show and into buying the car, but if two cars offer the same benefits but one is cheaper, the suits will likely lean towards the cheaper car.
Fuel Economy
The Network isn’t too concerned with fuel economy or fuel costs, but they don’t want something getting single digit MPGs either.
Do note- just because a stat is not listed amongst these priorities, doesn’t mean that you should totally ignore those other stats either. As the field thins out and the competition gets tighter, these stats may be the deciding factor in what car moves forward, and what car gets eliminated.
