Top Gear Challenge (Active again) (Round 1 Ended)

I know it’s not so realistic, a van IRL have much more cargo space than a sedan, but i need to base my classification on some data, i can not invent averything, i have to base the data on something, i give all the cars with the third row of seat 5 extra points but i can’t fix this Automation “bug”.

it’s ok, i wasn’t complaining, it’s the better way of doing things tbh since there are actual numbers to work with.

Well, the LX trim was not the quietest American Eagle Automotive made, as that was the Limited, but it was designed to have a nice rumble… (under-powered small block v8 doesn’t help the exhaust note either)

But, oh boy, if you need a car to fit all the hydraulic equipment and then some Benjamins, we got ya covered.

Hey hey! I’ve made some ground

Wow… Two wins in a row wasn’t what I was expecting when I submitted my car, and I’m surprised that even with such a low roll on the sound challenge I still won by so much. but I guess that’s what happens when you have such an amazing exaust piping to help the bald eagles flying from the engine… thats how engines work right?

Yes, that.

So far I’d say my car is doing rather decent. One note is that on the spreadsheet and each comment, you have misspelled the name of my company. It’s Petoskey, not Peotoskey.

I am pretty stoked so far as to the Buzzsaw’s progress lets see how the fwd goes down

Any updates on this?

Any updates yet? Still busy with real life?

That front looks so much like a Fiat 125p for me

@F17Francesco A pity that I haven’t seen this challenge earlier. I’m taking part in any following round for sure if only I’ll be able to

This challenge is kinda dead ATM.

So rip further contests.

I totally forgot about it (my bad). Sorry.
I’ve finished my finals last wednesday, so i’m free, i’ll post the result in minutes (or hours).

Time for a recap, for now we have tested engine sound (more is better) and interior space, the leader now is a mostrous wagon with 780hp (the Roadship 547 LE). Now it’s time for the most classic challenge, the drag strip.
Ok, ok, someone might say: why the 1/4 mile is crucial for a family car?
I replay: WHY NOT?
Let’s see which is the faster off the line:
After over 20 season of drags you have learned what’s important in this type of challenge? POWEEEEERERRRRRR!!!11!!!1!1!!1!!!1!!
Faster on the drag strip is the AEM Superbia with an amazing 12sec. (20 pts)
Second the Mive F1
Third the Adenine Valence Sport V8 (13sec)
For the complete classification look at the link below (drag tab)

Ok, now it’s time for real family car challenges, what really matter, a real life situation:
It’s 16:30, your child exit school now, you are in front of the building, you need to go home as fast as possible, the big game start at 17:00, but wait, you can’t burnout, in front of you there is a maze of children exited to go home blocking the road. You need to slalom between them. A good family car need good cornering. 400m of slalom.

Which will be the fastest car?

5th position goes to Galt Kyaria SP1 with an avg speed of 49.8km/h
4th for the current leader: Roadship 547LE
on the podium: Bogliq Fox GT300 (it’s not fair, it’s a sport car)
2nd the Bell Lexarion V8DHe todays sedans never stop to amaze me…
20 points for the: Adenine Valence Sport V8

Complete classification in the spreadsheet

Ok, the last 3 challenges are focussed on another topic:
How to convince your wife to buy a V8 car insted of a Prius?
It’s the hardest part.
A big factor is the price of the car and the price of the gas.
1 Point for each 1000$ less then budget and -1 point each liter used on a 50km trip

Let’s discuss a bit of the results: ECV rune is the cheapest of the whole lot, you can buy it for about 10000$, but is not great whit the economy. The current leader (the Roadship) is a great car, with a pretty low price but very expensive in terms of gasoline used (44 l/100km 5mpg).

Time for the last one: the final way to let your family buy a big car is the promise to let your wife drive sometimes, when she need it, and you want your car crashed on a tree?
Drivability is a key factor for a family car.
Another 0 for the Roadship (for now on: the dream of a men, the nightmare for the family)
The extra large size of the Peotoskey it make the car a pain to drive, 1pt
AEM Superbia is a bit too much powerful, only 2pts

But which is car is the most drivable?
3rd: Izen Ildor V8
2nd: Incredibly the Mive F1
The most easy to drive, the most tame car is the pretty old (1996) Hussar V8

Final classification incoming

17th: F Wagon Traveller and the HA 455E each one with only 25 pts
16th: Eagle El Govnor LX 26pts
14th: Peotoskey Romero SE and the ECV Rune FT 29pts but pretty old car, not bad.
13th: ANZ Motors Buzzsaw 2.8v8 31pts
12th: Erin Berlose Lex+ 2.6 32pts
11th: AEM Superbia 38pts
10th: Storm Star GX 39pts, only one point ahead of the AEM
9th: Routemaster Tourer Refitted 42pts
7th: Bell Lexarion V8DHe and Bogliq Fox GT300 46pts, pretty new cars, but not so good
6th: Roadship 547 LE 47pts, after the domination, not even on the podium
5th: Galt Automotive Kyaria SP1 48pts
4th: Mive F1 52pts
3rd: FSO Hussar V8 Combi 55pts, i can say it now, my favorite one
2nd: Adenine Valence Sport V8 58pts
Not so far ahead our choice for the family:

Izen Ildor V8

with 60pts is the best V8 family car, after all the challenges in the penumbra, with decent results but never a win, never a last place, the Ildor is the most balanced car af the whole lot.
Congratulation to @Suprec.

For the next round: i have an idea, but if i host the challenge i need to post the results in this condensed way. If anyone want to try to host a round just shout it below.

since i am on holiday with the family i have been without a stable internet connection for a while and when i get one i come to find that not only is this not dead but i have won. this was the very first automation challenge i entered so to win it is very surprising. i do think that for next round the points should be weighted towards winning each challenge so you will have a hard time winning by being average like i did

winning by being average like i did

Rarer things have never been said…

Congrats tho. Good job there
