Polandball.

TNP Polandball

I have made a Polandball before. Am not a Polandball tho.

TNP knows Yee

What, the meme? Yee, I know it.

TNP thinks that Potto will find this agreeable:

(…don’t take it serious)

Potto will be all over that, which 4chaner wouldn’t be frothing at the mouth trying to one-up each other with deliberately insensitive and politically incorrect remarks like that?

As an off-the-cuff remark, I will say that based on what my Japanese friends tell me, disability carries a huge amount of stigma in Japan due to the sheer overwhelming social pressure to not so much be as appear perfectly normal and functional. What stops incidents like these from happening on a more regular basis is that pressure works both ways: it makes people more unstable through repression, but it also makes people less likely to act out and become that deranged murderer. But it’s uniformly agreed that this is not a good kind of pressure.

TNP is friends with an intellectually disabled person.

Being Asian, I can confirm that mindset is not uncommon there. You have summed it up perfectly, most middle/lower-class families are extremely hard upon disabled children. They are not seen as requiring support but rather face criticism until they stop “acting up and drawing attention”. It’s gotten to the point where genders equality in terms to male population to female is getting out of hand. People want the easiest and most profit-generating kids ie male, not disabled, good looking, extremely obedient, etc etc.

Yes, being outside of Asia, I have been in international schools my entire life and still am. I have known and am friends with a good many people who have Aspergers, autism and others. Those are some I recollect straight-away.

TNP likes broccoli

True. btw broccoli puree is tastier than it sounds.

MY ASIAN BROTHER LET US CELEBRATE THE POWER OF RICE

TNP likes brussel sprouts

Personally I don’t know why my girlfriend is so fond of the damn things. It must be her English childhood.

False as hell. I am absolutely repulsed and disgusted by them.

TNP finds vegans more annoying than vegetarians

True-ish. They fall under a certain social profile, but take the lifestyle measures to extreme lengths. The annoyingness mainly is a product of being much more difficult to cater to (the rest is due to any moralising that may happen, but in Australia this is largely stifled by the fact our culture is hugely pro meat, not least because the meat lobby here is based on a massive live export industry, which has been under the spotlight for several wrong reasons lately).

TNP believes a post-scarcity economy utopia is possible.

EDIT: dw, this does require a degree of specific reading and interest. One of mine is public health, so this is somewhat relevant. In brief: currently we live in a scarcity economy: supply and demand are the main market forces because we have limited supply, so to limit the amount of demand, the price is there so only people who can afford the goods and are willing to buy them will do so. Post-scarcity refers to when our technologies are so efficient that basic commodities are produced in such quantities that there does not need to be a price for it. In a sense a post-scarcity utopia would be something like nobody is obliged to work for a living, all the basis things like food and housing would be covered. Among others, Karl Marx was a proponent of this ideal, but this is nowhere near the same as communism, because while I’m not a strongly subscribed Marxist, frankly nobody has seen anywhere near the realisation of the vision Marx et al. had because a) we aren’t efficient enough b) absolute power corrupts absolutely so we only ever see fascist totalitarian communist regimes with maybe one (successful) exception c) the ideals don’t account for the inequities within the human condition (controversial).

Why is this relevant to the ideals of vegetarianism and veganism? Because traditional agriculture, especially the meat industry, has no place in a post-scarcity economy. Not as its foundation, as it is for many countries around the world in our scarcity-driven economy. What many will find unpalatable is that “efficiency” tends to come with “limited choice” and “maximal production”. And radical new solutions are… radical. Like discovering that the proteins in a specific species of cockroach milk is actually ultra energy dense. Or basing your entire diet on soy etc. (which I can’t do, my gut doesn’t tolerate soy products…). There’s also concern that this is the antithesis of the “free market” or that capitalism will be displaced and overall demand for specialist goods that drive industry innovation and competition in general will go up in smoke, particularly as the tech advancements and integration that post-scarcity economies require will automate so much as to render the majority of the human population unemployable. Proponents argue that 1) the market for better goods will still be driven by those who are employed on a ‘supplementary’ income (which is a highly contentious argument in many ways), and 2) pressure to be employed will be reduced to the point that people will be able to pursue other things like education and innovation in other forms without having to make it their livelihood, thus, in fact this will be better for innovation. While I’d like that to be true because the system for promoting innovations in, say, the sciences in our scarcity-driven economy are fundamentally broken, I’m not entirely convinced.

*TNP knows what the hell post-scarcity economy utopia is?

No, I have no friggin clue. I don’t exactly think I’m stupid but that went straight over my head. I’m easily anywhere between a good 3 to 10 years younger than you so… that was overload for me.

i will edit in the next TNP question

C-C-C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!! that’s the end your streak you two.
MUAHAHAHAHAHA

answering strops:
true
actually, it’s somewhat already happening in some very specialized cases.
nevermind, i misunderstood that

TNP has a stick.

False, I do not have a stick. I do have body armour though (though it’s for taekwondo, not like, riot gear or ballistics).

p.s. post-scarcity is actually happening? What cases? Last I heard Switzerland resoundingly voted NO to it lol.

TNP has body armour.

false, kinda want some though, don’t ask why, but i find it a pretty sexy outfit

TNP also doesn’t know why

true, why are they sexy even? heck i found some women in full formal clothes to be sexy sometimes.

TNP has that 1 criteria for the other gender that makes their attractiveness level goes through the roof.

True. Long black hair.

TNP thinks Converse shoes are for girls.

FALSEFALSEFALSEFALSEFALSEFALSEFALSE
I LOVE THEM! they last for ages even with the abuse

i have 2 main shoes, both are converse, one of them i’ve been using daily for nearly 7 years now, and went through a bike accident. and i think with it’s conditions right now, it could last at least 2 more years. given, the appearance of it has deteriorated until it’s similiar to a $ 25 chinese nike knockoff shoes now.

TNP loves ponytail

true. I believe in the right to wear your hair however you want (unless you’re in the hospitality industry, in which case, please don’t put your hair and the things in it into my food and bedding). But ponytail’s probably my favourite way of seeing it done.

p.s. also used to be a diehard fan of Converse. Problem: they weren’t either cheap enough, or sturdy enough or light enough for the abuse I put them through i.e. bboying and parkour mainly. So I switched to Feiyues, but now they’re a freaking fashion item. And Dunlop Volleys are the wrong shape for my foot. Now I just wear really cheap shoes so if they crap out on me I can replace them :stuck_out_tongue:

TNP can’t recognise people when they change their hair.

true, fuck i even can’t recognise some friends when they wear makeup.

P.S which kind of ponytail though? mine’s ponytail with bangs and long ‘side bangs’ (i dunno the english word for it)

TNP have watched either “Danshi Kokousei no Nichijou” or “Seitokai Yakuindomo”
(even if you’re not an anime guy, please give these 2 a shot. you’ll blow out your asses laughing)

Neither. I just don’t have the time to get into anime becuase I get so drawn in I stay up until 4 watching and watching and watching.

TNP agrees with the stereotype that metalheads are terrible people, emos and sadistic murderers
