Depends. Turbos have their swag, and you most definetely want one on a diesel engine, but they are most definetely no replacement for a delicious high-revving NA. As for displacement, a large displacement NA can deliver similar figures without the added complexity, but it also costs more to develop a large displacement NA than to slap a turbo on an existing small engine.
