So as many people on this forum will know in the 50s and 60s a lot of cars had two tone paint jobs now I don’t know how difficult it is to add this but I would honestly love to be able to make a rival to the Cadillac elderado biarattz (really don’t know how to spell that) and that car was for many people a style statement.
So to make a more stylish car (to the human eye) we should have two tone paints how boring would it be colour wise if we were restricted to one colour per car why not two in stead of having a totally pale blue car why not have a pale blue and ivory white car it would look stylish and maybe even give your car a better reception to the style conscious audience.
Ok now down to the serious part
Upsides
Duh it looks Cool maybe could be used in the racing expansion for team colours
Adds a more real feel to the game allowing you to delve deeper into style and even weirdness
Downsides
Could cost the player more Money to make the car
Obviously would take poor daffy a lot more time to make but I’m sure most of us could wait for it to be released after the main game.
Thanks for considering this idea would really love to see this in the game.
Could be possible, but only in cars that have actually been designed to be two tone, otherwise the line where the two paints meet would look dodgy. Could happen eventually, but not high on the priority list
Good suggestion. I like some custom paintjobs. Not like pearlescent purple or something, but just something different other carmanufacturers have used.
What about not spraying bumpers? So you get those black bumpers and metallic carparts?
It could just be a checkbox that makes you able enable or disable it. Manhour and cost go down when unchecked, making the car looking a little less appealing, but reduces the cost in goods and manhours, good for making cheap cars.

Plastic non-painted bumpers etc. could be pretty easy, yeah.
Sure daffy why not
I’m obviously not an expert in anyway at all but is it not possible to take the current car bodies and then change some coding to make it possible
Of corse it would still only be on some cars and it would appear as two separate vehicles on the UI so one could be called shape 1 and the other could be called shape 1 two tone to also save time this could only be available for cars in the 50s,60s and maybe 70s and 80s.
There is even citroen saxo’s done from the factory with two tone, and they’re early 2000’s. Also the older Micra has a pearlescent colour. Maybe we should look into all these types. Getting you some sort of 64 colour pallette which either can be matte, metallic, gloss and like a bi-tone, two-tone, pearlescent library to pick from? All coming with more or less manhours and cost of course and various body parts to pick wether or not to paint.
Kind of, but it needs a good place/seam running down the actual model for it to change colour at. So the model kind of does need to be designed with that in mind.
