Only 3 cars can be added per person. Which 3 of those do you prefer the most?

(side note: the VW Golf GTI was just called the “Volkswagen GTI” in the US until 2010. I’d be putting the US name on there if I added it.)

(Side note 2: Looks like the Suzuki Swift was never sold in the US, so that might answer the question for you.)

(Side note 3: the Civic Si came as both a sedan and a coupe, it seems. Do you have a preference on which version?)

(Side note 1,528,189: The MK5 golf didn’t reach the US until 2006, so I assume you’d want the year moved up to match. Plz let me know if I’m wrong.)

Suzuki sold a rebadged Geo metro here as the Swift in the early 90s.

Yeah, and apparently they did the same with the Aveo in Canada.

I don’t think the rebadged Metro is related to the Swift they were asking about, though.

Yea , I don’t think they were referring to that one either

Haven’t participated in challenges since at least half a year, but this one sounds like fun. A question, as I don’t see it anywhere: are mods allowed?

The cars I’d like to request for the cool wall are:

2000 Daewoo Nubira Wagon (didn’t know this, but according to this brochure it was available in the US)
1997 Hyundai Tiburon (RD1)
2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 coupe

Oh boy, us at Denison used car sales got a real treat for the right customer…

This particular car was a barn find some teen found in his grand father’s shed, our employees at the shop worked her over and got her into impeccably running again… not much so for the paint unfortunately. she shows her age and this car is just as zippy with this car still showing off its 100+HP 4 cylinder eco with around 200K miles. nothing major had to be done to get this going, obviously this car had been modified with older and newer parts, the complete list shows and explains in full:

The Notable
  • Mid-range first gen 80s styled LED headlights (partially installed incorrectly, Corrected by Technician)

  • Genuine DM-HP Model (Called Domestic Market Hodge-Podge, featuring options usually exclusive to foreign markets – Missing parts replaced with standard OEM reproductions)

  • Engine had been modified slightly with an official turbo kit otherwise worked over to refresh perishable parts.

  • Interior retains its premium upholstery after a DEEP CLEAN (Dont ask, we wont tell.) however the cushions show signs they need to be replenished soon, but very suitable and some life is there. in the back, rear seats is omitted by former owner for the two level storage option, but seats will be installed with no extra charge if wanted.

  • Obvious surface rust however our paint specialists declared it non-integral surface rust from the poorly built barn it was found in. some would call it patina material if you wish to show its age. otherwise can be fixed for a discounted fee, if requested.

  • Aftermarket first gen styled steering wheel (E-bay special). Airbag is removed but will freely replace steering wheel and airbag system if safety concerns rise.

  • All original manuals, tire kits and paperwork including fresh spare keys.

  • And finally fresh industry standard steels with standard tires.

With the list out of the way, here’s by lemon law we have to mention as well.

The bad
  • Been claimed for a minor accident, (not totalled or noticeable at a glance, but front left face clip needs some repairs)

  • Poor paint job from a non-certified paint shop. (parts of car shows minor orange peel, paint technician helped make it look presentable with paint magic (he doesn’t tell us how.)

  • Rear left tire well seems to had suffered a major blowout, replaced with a aftermarket wheel well.

  • Body technicians removed unnecessary junk from car (E-BAY fender flairs and poor black trimming, including a rear spoiler for a front wheel drive car.)

*The Car was noted by NYPD for ‘Hooning’ around the Bronx in 1998 with a minor police chase ending in aforementioned accident flag.

Overall our experts rate this car a B- for mostly cosmetic, but overall perfect project car for those wanting a cheap car to fix and properly upgrade overtime with our suits giving this car a whopping 5 year bumper to bumper company warranty* with OEM parts and official cosmetics still made and new ones designed for this car, its a wonder why someone would just leave this car in a barn.

And we are proud to sell this car for a solid $1,650. specially this time of year, its a steal for a car like this. so treat yourself with a retro King Snake DM-HP.

Mods are certainly allowed. (On this forum, it seems, they are allowed by default in challenges unless otherwise stated.)

In the event I don’t have a mod you used, I’ll send you a photo of the car I have and let you know if I think anything important’s missing.

If you have enough space on your hard drive, I’d recommend downloading Delta’s mod collection so you wouldn’t have to deal with missing fixtures in the future.

I still remember the time you hosted the sports MPV challenge and saw my Alphard on 19 inch steelies and low profile tyres because you didn’t have the mod for the wheels lmao

Yeah, the thing with your Alphard may have happened already to 2 entrants this round… (:

You’d think the 520+ mods I already have would cover most things, but I keep getting surprised. That modpack should cover a bit more, so thanks mate!

Edit: This modpack just added 200 mods to my roster, and now the entries that weren’t fully working earlier now are. Thanks!

For Sale: 2000 Etherea Sunburst ($2000 OBO)
Colour: Sunburst Orange
Odo: 125,000mi

Pictured here on the banks of Ontario Lake

Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde

Ah yes, the optimism of a new century. Things were looking up, everything seemed to be going good, spirits were definitely high. The Etherea Motor company decided to make a car to commemorate the new century. By partnering with Einwagen they created the Etherea Sunburst, a roadster for the masses.

If you didn’t mind the snug accommodation for strictly 2 people, and the particularity small trunk, this was the car for the ordinary folk that would make you look like a million bucks. And it made you feel like a million bucks too thanks to its split personality.

Despite the fact the suspension was tuned for comfort and it ran standard tyres, body roll was kept in check and it would pull nearly 1G on the skidpad. Despite the fact that it had a fairly pedestrian Einwagen 2.0T engine tuned to run on 91 octane and a 4 speed automatic, it would do the century sprint in 7.5 seconds. In typical Etherea fashion, it would do this with incredible fuel efficiency and reasonable service costs to boot.

Part of the magic of the car was thanks to the brilliant chassis engineering by Einwagen with tuning by Etherea. Etherea outsourced the bulk of manufacturing to the Einwagen group for the Sunburst so they could take advantage of their new spaceframe chassis construction introduced by the marquee in 1994. On this project, the contributions from Etherea mainly had to do with design, direction, and suspension tuning.

But of course, this isn’t a roadster without fault. The biggest complaint for Sunburst at the time by automotive journalists was the fact that the roof doesn’t come off. Etherea’s executives thought a convertible added too much cost, complexity, and unreliability. Instead they put in a large sunroof in place of what would be (and to some what should be) an open top car.

20 years later, depreciation has taken done its thing and the car is now affordable to highschoolers with 2000 dollars in the bank. With this kind of performance you certainly won’t be late to class, and its looks would fool any teenager in to believing this car is a “Chixx Magnet”; given of course said teenager had very few friends (again 2 seats)… But decide to buy one and you will be treated to one of the best driving experiences a tight budget could buy…

This looks like a lot of fun. I am assuming that the “cool wall” cars are pictures of real cars? If so I have a submittal - a 2002 SLK 320. I have been driving it since Spring and have been told by the youth that it is “sick”. The hydraulic hard top is awesome.

The Cool Wall is what the buyer thinks of the cars in the pictures—it’s more of a guide to help us figure out what he’s pining for when we do our entries.

Real life makes and models, yes, though not individual vehicles. Like nightwave said, it helps make the “coolness” scoring area more predictable.

That’s a good photo of the SLK 320, though, so I might steal that one for the wall anyway. (:

Well it seems 4.2 Alpha is here now! o:

So I will clarify that this challenge will not be advancing to 4.2 Alpha; this challenge wasn’t designed with the update in mind, and 4 contestants have already submitted cars anyway.

I’ll update the original post to reflect this.
