Ventura Automotive [Making New Company]

Sharp looking little car. Probably quite fun.

The redline isn’t actually on the power peak but is still too close to it. Why wasn’t it extended?

Probably because reliability would take a massive drop? It’s already sub-50 and a redline any higher may have cost points?

1998 Ventura Concept-Eco

Nicknamed Alien Car , this car is really different from Ventura’s lineup. It was an attempt to make an eco car by making the most fuel-saving car that has been built by Ventura. With the weird funky design , the car caught some attention during the event of 1998 Detroit Auto Show.

The car’s running on 0.8 Inline 3 non-turbocharged producing 57 hp. Sure this is a slow car but it was a car that is focused into eco , not a fast sedan.

Ya know… Eco cars only work if they’re cheap

Shame because that is one nifty looking car.

I definitely like the lime-green color you chose for it. But is it actually going to be put into series production instead of remaining a concept car? Also, I want to see more detailed specs in the form of the design tab.

Hmm. To be brutally honest, for being an eco car, 47mpg (UK or US) isn’t that great. The car isn’t light, at 1400kg either.

I dunno, in 1998, that’s pretty decent if it’s US MPG.

While a small displacement 3 cylinder engine ought to be a very efficient unit, I’d reckon you’d be better off going for ~1l i4 turbo and running it as lean as possible. Either way, I like the idea, and the styling is very late-90s

EDIT: Does anyone know the name of that kind of design style? Came before the ‘Edge’ design of the 2000s, was all about smoothness and roundness.

2000 Ventura Concept-Eco Phase II

The team wasn’t satisfied with the first Concept-Eco because it’s heavy and pretty decent fuel MPG coming from a eco-focused car. They want more and they did the 2nd phase of Concept-Eco. 2 years after the public reveal of the first Concept-Eco , this Phase II stage may be the final production version of this car.

The engine got upgraded from weak 0.8 inline 3 to 1.3 turbocharged Inline 4 tuned for saving fuel. Thanks to turbocharger that is tuned for eco , the car has more power and much more fuel-saving.

Nice! That really is more of an eco car. I also think the phase 2 looks nicer too.

This is more like it. Pity it’s not lime green anymore…

I like it, nice mpg for the size of that car, I only really managed 70mph by sacrficing speed, and size.

Guys , i need name suggestion for the Concept-Eco! The most interesting name will be the winner.

Link, Avante, Verda (verde is green in Italian), Sigma, Amaze, Eta…

Yeah, I just spit out the first few names that came to my mind.
