And here I thought my comfort score was high… 85+?!? JEEZ!! Here is to (us) hoping you cut corners elsewhere!
As I said, i had low prestige compared to the others because I have a 6 cylinder engine.
I actually experimented with V6s. Although in order for them to make sufficient enough torque for me, it needed be bigger than most Freightliner V6s. How much power does your engine have?
Very “low” for a 5 liter 6 cylinder turbo… it’s 270 hp… but i have 41% economy
That’s pretty darn good considering my 6.3 Liter V8 makes a whole 20 horsepower more.
My 5-liter turbo V8 only throws down 286 horsepower. It’s set up for efficiency.
Announcing 20th to 5th place!
First off, this was a very close one guys, in the last two competitions I had, the swing in points from top to bottom was as great as 50%, but for W.H.A.L.E of an Order, it was only 18% between top and bottom.
Good job everyone.
With out further ado.

Back into topic tho…16th is lower than I expected What happened and what’s that +3,615% out there?

the percentage is the difference between your place, the the position below yours. (as in the percentage you are over the previous place)
I add those so people could have a quick, and easy way to see how close some of the scores were, with over half of them being less then 1%
Fuel efficiency did not really matter to me in the boat challenge. What matters more is prestige, drivability, top speed, and reliability,so I created a fat 6.4 liter v8 pumping out approximately 640hp
I’m interested in the other barge engines. Please share!
6 cylinder didn’t paid off. Still, I have the most comfy ride out there.
On one hand, I’m slowly getting better at these challenges! On the other, aw, so sad, missed the reviews. Perhaps I should have cut back on the engine investment and gone for more safety and comfort. Good show though (also, barely lost to NormanVauxhall, that’s a huge improvement for me!)
640hp what the hell, I thought I was getting up there with 563hp. How did you manage to get that, and enough fuel efficiency to make the weight and the fuel consumption? I was already kind of pushing it. (Also damn, your reliability would have suffered if you used a highly undersquare engine, unless you decided to put a turbo on it, which would have not done wonders for your drivability or comfort).
At any rate, here’s the stats on my car, for anybody else interested.
Well, that went about as I expected. I put too much weight into fuel efficiency and should’ve put more effort into making horsepower and extra comfort.
My engine is overquare. I used vvt and vvl to improve economy and power. Both enabled me to create a rocket that was good on gas. It is naturally aspirated with a reliability of 68.5.
Thank you strop and Norman for sharing! I am excited for the results
17th…
Seems that I cannot design any type of car these days without it falling flat on it’s face!
Congrats to the top 4 and thanks again Lordred for an excellent challenge!!!
Now I understand, that 640 has ridiculous HP and narrow wheels, it must have an incredible top speed which contributes to its strong prestige score. Meanwhile I put my car on 235s, meaning it goes and corners like hell, but I had to make more sacrifices to make the fuel economy and lose a bit of top speed too.
