I came up with some car-culture related ones that would make sense and could be an entertaining addition to the game. Most of them would be campaign achievements, not stuff you can get in Sandbox.
“Weirön? Please.” - Build an engine with 8 cylinders or less, no larger than 5.0 litres, that produces 1000+ Horsepower / 745+ Kilowatts. (Referencing Koenigsegg, who produces a engine nearly half as large as Bugatti’s, with half as many turbos, and half as many cylinders, and still produces the same, or better, power figures.)
“Call me Mordon Gurray” - Produce a car by no later than 1994 that can reach 240 MPH / 386 KM/H. (Reference to supercar culture again, with the McLaren F1, which became the first road car to officially achieve 240+ mph, and its creator, Formula 1 car designer Gordon Murray.)
“I’ll need something fast.” - Produce a black, 2-door sports car that has at least 4 seats, with a naturally aspirated engine that produces >220 horsepower on unleaded fuel, +Catalytic converters, and sell it in the US between 1977 and 1979. (Pop culture reference to the movie Smokey and the Bandit.)
“These new engines sound like junk!” - Design a turbocharged engine which is 1.6 litres, revs to 12,000 RPM and can produce 600+ horsepower. (Motorsports reference to the fans who had an outcry when Formula One swapped to 1.6 Turbos for the 2014 season. Note: I have tried and tested producing such a engine in sandbox mode, it is entirely possible but does require a lot of productivity units, though not +15 quality in every tab.)
“This car is Laud!” - Fit a car with a 3.0 Liter V12 that produces at least 470 horsepower, and can rev to at least 10,000 RPM, in 1975 or 1976. (Motorsports reference to Niki Lauda, who drove a Ferrari 312T with a 3.0 V12 producing nearly 500 horsepower in '75 and '76.)
“The Last Dinosaur” - Produce the same platform from 1970 or earlier until 2010.
“Who wants Horse Meat?” - Design a mid-engined sports car, using a V8 engine, and a 4-speed manual transmission, which can achieve 220 miles per hour…Then sell at least 7 in the US. In 1967. (Referencing the 1967 Ford GT40 Mark IV which won at Le Mans, embarrassing Ferrari. And could achieve 220mph. It was the last of the large-displacement Prototypes.)
