Thanks to AhmendDarkSlayer on the discord for sharing this. It’s become a regular part of my playlist as of late.
I think I am more familiar with the Days of thunder soundtrack than the one of most movies (spare for American graffiti maybe). When I was growing up my mother had an Opel Rekord where the tape player for unknown reasons would eat every tape except for a mixtape with Bon Jovi’s “Blaze of glory” album on side A and the Days of thunder soundtrack on side B, so it was played in that car year in and year out… 
A bit tiresome back then, childhood nostalgia now.
