1995 Letaran Auto Convention (Car of the year 1995, FINISHED!)

Not only allowed, it might score you some extra points. (As long as it seems like it can be justified. Having a 25 hp inline 3 and drum brakes all around to be able to fit satnav to a low price won’t place you high, to put it that way).

Swanson 900 Next Generation
The Everyday Supercar

Left to right: 925S (Eurospec), 937SP (submitted), 937ST

Sporting an airy glass cockpit and racy snorkel air intake, the NG improves on the classic 900 in every way.

The happiest accidents are the ones that don’t happen. We know a mid-engined car, even our own, can be a handful. That’s why we worked hard with top engineers and suppliers to equip the NG with state-of-the-art Electronic Stability Control, so it points the way you want it at all times.

The NG 3.7L Boxer Six now comes with a stronger alloy block & head, and variable valve length & timing for 100hp/L. Through a slick 6-speed manual and electronic LSD, 0-100 in 3.8s and 325 km/h is effortlessly achieved.

PRIMUS on the 1995 Letaran Auto Convention

“FRAUD!”, we heard a competitor´s representative complaining, and we can´t be mad at him. The Merit was introduced last year, the Imperator even in 1991.
BUT we have profund reason to introduce them as new models, and the man nodded in the end and drank a coffee with us. Let us show the cars in detail:

MERIT
The Merit is the successor of the Astrona, and in general more premium. One of the very first Gasmean models, from which most Letaran Primus are derived since they need sidemarkers as well, was tested last year and besides overall praise, criticized for wallowy suspension and fading brakes.

“Apart from brake fade issues (due to undersized brakes and no brake cooling) and somewhat soft suspension, the Merit has a lot of, erm, merit. It has plenty of standard equipment (including stability control) and looks the part inside and out, with commensurate performance. Staggered tires could complicate servicing, though. (abg7, QFC19)”

Since Letarans tend to drive like maniacs (dont remind us of the mid-70s Globus Premier crashes) and the Merit is advertized as sports sedan, the Letaran model is no longer a twin of the rest.
The 1995 Letara Merit differs in many details, the most prominent are

  • slightly sportier suspension tuning
  • sportier looking alloy wheels to choose from
  • different rear styling.
  • minor fine tuning of the engine for a small overall improvement

Please compare the normal Merit (above) to the Letaran Merit (below).

The Elegance models include the famous POIC (Primus Onboard Information Center) in its second generation, known from our flagship Legacy. A feature no other car in it’s class can offer.

Imperator
Why do we sell this as a new model? With the introduction of THE VERY FIRST PRIMUS V12 ENGINE (!) we refined the Chassis a lot, since we rebuilt the whole existing car around it for perfect sophistication. We offer a handmade biturbo that was already “car of the year” elsewhere, but we are afraid the Letarans will kill themselves with that rocket. Instead, the Letarans will get a non-turbo version, but this one also rivals true sports cars, at least on a straight line, and while outperforming them in comfort, the Imperator keeps up surprisingly good on a twisty road.

“Verdict: Passed on to the semifinals. It’s cool, it’s stylish, and it’s comfortable, while being very prestigious as well. It’s excellent in all respects; apart from its price tag. Did I mention speed? In short: A ridiculous, completely unnecessarily powerful and fast saloon, and I fucking love it. It would have been the world’s fastest production car if it weren’t for the McLaren F1, and it’s the fastest 4-door by a wide margin (shibisu, QFC23)”

Ah yes, and not to forget the small changes in the interior, so this one is a real upgrade to the 1991-1994 Imperator despite the overall similarity.

Viator
More and more families demand for a minivan - so did our customers. Our aim was to offer them a car with maximum space for minimum compromises. While the design is close to the Merit, the chassis is derived from the Primus Persua compact car - these cars are rarely used for spirited driving, the handling just has to be safe, which it is. On the other hand, cost plays a role. For a low price, the buyer gets proven Primus quality and reliability - as well as a huge and well-designed interior. The 2.3 engine can be bought with the ultra-modern five speed automatic as found in the Merit, and the “Comfort” trim offers a good balance between price and, well, comfort, even having a CD sound system.

OUR GUEST: RIGEL

The Spanish brand Rigel is rather young and offers a sedan, too, but since the car is half a class below the Merit and aims at a different type of buyer, we invited them to be our neighbours.
The Odiel 16V Confort as shown here is your usual 100 horsepower commuter sedan, however, the exterior is fresher than that of most alternatives for the budget-oriented buyer.
The manufactor says about it:

[…] the mid-range of the Odiel stands out for its aggressive and elegant lines, the comfort version is focused on the community for its passengers and ease of driving. Among its standard equipment we can count on a progressive suspension, power steering, white leather interior and aluminum inserts. The offer of comfort in terms of engines is extended and expanded with the possibility of an automatic gearbox.

The Rigel was posted on behalf of @Skygel14 if he can´t find the time to advertize it.

Thanks to PRIMUS for bringing a Rigel as a guest. We hope you enjoy the vehicles!

You did a great job reimagining your TMCC14 entry for the '95 LAC - and it looks and feels better than ever.

Anyway, here are my two other entries for LAC95:

Wolfram Wolford 3.0 (left, green) - The company’s most advanced premium executive car yet, powered by a 3.0L direct-injected straight-six. Fully independent suspension (dual wishbones up front, multi-links at the rear) at all four corners, incorporating semi-active damping, provide unrivaled ride and handling for the segment, while a light AHS steel chassis and advanced safety systems keep the weight down and the occupants safe.

Wolfram Waymaker 2.4 (right, red) - This well-packaged MPV is available in multiple seating configurations, from four seats to eight. The model shown has a standard interior and stereo, plus three seats in each of the two rearmost rows, both of which fold flat to increase cargo space. Its light AHS steel chassis improves safety while maximizing efficiency. A premium interior and sound system are optional throughout the range.

The Wolford and Waymaker have a base price of $30,000 and $25,000 AMU, respectively, in the trims shown here. It is expected that the advanced technologies featured in these cars will eventually trickle down to future models in the range.

1995 Mara Kavaler 2.3 UKE

Developing a successor for their large Kavaler was only Mara’s 3rd priority after the fall of the Closed Curtain and the opening up of new markets. Hence the Kavaler Mk2 came out in 1995 two years after the compact Asteri (the Irena successor) and one year after the Zorya / Zora Mk2 city car.

The new Kavaler’s bread-and-butter engine was the Asteri’s Progress I4 enlarged to 2.3 litres. Given the historic appreciation of the Irena wagon in Archana, they decided to offer a Kavaler wagon as well in addition to the traditional sedan. The Universal Komfort Extra was the top trim on offer.

1995 Mara Zora 1.1 TR

Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum…

While the all-new Zorya / Zora Mk2 family of city cars has had its debut in 1994, it had to make due with a slightly revised Konyk 1.3 I4 engine with roots dating back to the 1940s. 1995 marked the debut of Mara’s first OHC and all-aluminium engine, the 1.1 litre Triyka I3 with a unique 9V layout.

1995 also was the first year the Zora’s van version was introduced, based on demands from prospering Archanan small businesses as a replacement for the ageing fleet of Tovarysh and also Irena vans across Archana (and Dalluha and Fruinia, in case of the latter as well, at least for those not depending on loading long goods horizontally…).

I expect the Kavaler to be able to run at maximum rpm in 100 meter water depth while a vulcan eruption boils it while all oil was drained.
At least it looks like that for a 1995 model and Mara has a reputation for building cheap and ultra reliable.

The Zora is adorable, and looks like it can stack a lot of Coneheads in the back. Would make a great Popemobile (with some extra glass), if the guy were to be invited to Archana.

So far I haven’t seen any non-production concepts - except for the OXXRON Ciao. And as of now, I am one of only three users to submit entries in all three production car categories (standard, luxury/performance, and utility).

Tarske joins the 1995 Letaran Auto Covention

About Tarske

Founded in 1969, Tarske is a sports cars manufacturer based in Germany. Their line-up consisted of their main sports car, the SW610, and the C-Series of small and agile coupes. Tarske specialices in boxer engines and aluminum body panels.

However, they have been growing recently and the Tarske Group was created after acquiring Superlite in 1988 and Tarquini in 1990. Now they want to expand the main brand into other markets, and the 1995 LAC serves as the perfect oportunity to present their new models.

Tarske OD525: Utilitarian Comfort

Tarske’s first ever SUV. Combining utility and comfort, the OD525 can do everything a car can do for you. It’s powered by a new 3L Boxer 4 engine, which will also see use in the next generation of the C-Series.

Tarske LQ840: Luxury Reimagined

Based on the Umbra Conquistador, the LQ840 is more than just a rebadge. Almost every part was changed and improved, making it the definitive experience. It also marks the debut of the V8 MPE engine, which is set become the base engine for several high performance cars in the Tarske Group.

Tarske HX2000 Concept: Welcome to the Future

Above all, Tarske is a sports cars brand and the HX2000 is a look into the future of the supercar. With a styling inspired by open top sports prototypes and powered by a twin turbo boxer 6, this stunning concept car is capable of surpasing 400km/h. And the best part about it: Tarske has confirmed a production version will be available in the next 5 years

1995 Wolfram WF10

Not a production car, but a concept (for now at least).

Powered by a bespoke direct-injected 560bhp 4.8L V10 with a 9000-rpm redline, and incorporating all the advanced technology that is expected to be commonplace on higher-end luxury and/or performance cars within a decade, the WF10 is our vision of what the future of the hypercar should be - immensely powerful as always, but incredibly light and benefiting from technological advances developed from lessons learned through decades of competition in various racing series.

While the other two seemed - sorry - very uninspired and rather soulles to me, this sports car has more character. Clean, fluid lines that can stand the competition to the Primus rival very well. It improves the Wolfram impression on the show significantly.

All For One, One For All

Introducing the Rhania-Angola Supporter made for the Sub Saharan/Middle Eastern markets as a durable pickup to haul goods with its advanced engine sourced from Angola making a respectable 215 horsepower that’ll allow you carry all the things you need!

Cheap to run, easy to run, and reliable to run.

1995 Knightwick K6 27-GSi

Based on our new fully modular transverse platform the first car we are showing is the K6 sedan, aimed at the premium family market.

The K6 will have a full line up of models, with this four door sedan, a five door wagon, a five door hatchback, two door coupe and two door cabriolet.

The model here is the top of the range 27-GSi with a 2.7l V6 engine driving the front wheels through a four speed auto gearbox.

Engines at launch will be 1.8 and 2.0 four cylinders along with this 2.7 V6. Gearboxes are five speed manual or four speed auto on all engines.
