I think I have an 8 second to 62mph hatchback so I also might sit in the middle
###Challenge 2
On the way to the west coast via Route 70, you stop by a place called the National Trail Raceway, which means only on thing: Quarter Mile Drag Race!
Score: 0-400m time.
wow thereā¦i expected my car to be fast. not first.
btw, @asdren itās not pyton.
itās phyton. you know, the snake?
edit: NINJA!
Results of Challenge 2 have been posted above. I also included the total points for each participant to the thread head. Iāll post also some short infos about the participants as soon as i can access my pc.
Sorry, iāll fix that.
edit: NINJA!
In the thread head we are driving wrong carsā¦
Good goodā¦ this one was better for my coup
I suck at sorting with google docs fixed.
Well I expected my car to do badly, but even so, I cringed at that resultā¦
Holy crap @koolkei! That thingās bloody quick. Also was not expecting 3rd from the Excel. Thatās raw brute force from a 5 liter 4-cylinder, and being really fast with my gear changes.
Now, just imagine what insanity this would have been if Iād have turbocharged the beast. I considered it for just a moment, and then thought it wasnāt necessary to bring a 600+ horsepower nightmare to the partyā¦ This time. Even had an engine tune that gave it a thousand, but decided to be sensible instead. Gas mileage, after all. That, and wanting to have better options than basic seats and no radio at the end.
@asdren Can you please in the next challenge change the name of my car to Frankford Rockdrummer MMk.C?
yeahā¦ inline4 FTW. btw, iām still getting 35mpg you know. because turbo
19 MPG, because displacement. Which, to be fair, isnāt that bad when one considers the other kinds of engines that routinely displace about 5.4 liters.
I think I have around 17-19 mpg. And a 13.37 quarter is not bad for a ādefinitely not more than 300hpā car that ādefinitely does not rev above 6 grandā.
Specs aside, I could have selected a better transmission, but figured a totally not useless overdrive would be more appropriate for a road trip. And Iām not too familiar with tuning an engine with VVL and VVT, so there is probably room for improvement there.
16.8 MPG from a 6.6L 419 horsepower V8 in a 2.5 ton truck isnāt bad in my opinion. Iām surprised I placed at all in the test, given the vehicle I wasnāt expecting much.
woohoo 4th much better than I expected but then again V8 POWAA
Thereās no replacement for displacement! Doesnāt matter whether itās 4, 6, 8, or 12 cylinders, a big engine gets you down the track in a hurry.
iād argue to say 3.3 liters is a ābigā engine.
Yes, it is. And you have displacement and whacked a turbo on it, hence you won the drag race.
