American Road Trip Challenge [finished]

Ooh, safety… I know I’m pretty good for this one

Can I NOT crash the one of a kind vehicle into a wall please?

There’s no need for reading the description of this challenge

Well, shit. No comfort/prestige focused challenge this time. GG koolkei

My car is still better :stuck_out_tongue:

I think safety is one of the things my car is ok with (it being a family car)

don’t give up yet, your premium car might just have enough advantage to take over the points here

@asdren should we be waiting for some blurbs or reviews of the contestants?

LOL…I asked for this at the start…and now hope to at least retain P3…or improve!

Unless you’re taking the wife and kids on a camping trip. :stuck_out_tongue:

Psh. That’s what a trailer is for. Wife can ride with me up front, I’m sure the kids will be fine in the trailer :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I’m hosed. Decent safety, but I built for a high top speed. Willing to bet I take last place on this one.

##Challenge 8

Well, there is one challenge left. Lets see how much top speed your car can gain. That will be the speed it is going to crash against the a big concrete wall. How much will be left of your car?

Score: Safety * 5 - Top Speed in km/h

Result:

##Final Standings:

###3rd place: TR8R

###2nd place: phale

#Winner: koolkei

Thank you everybody for participating and congrats to @koolkei

Congratulations @koolkei

Thanks to @asdren

And FOA would like to thank all the other competitors for making us look so good (except for 1st and 2nd places naturally!)

We’re pretty happy with where we came and will hope to do better if ARTC is rerun.

Congratulatinod to the top 3 winners!
And obviously, thanks to @asdren, this was a pretty entertaining challenge, I really love the format!

And as far as Meliora Automotive goes… we’re pretty much happy with the results, we didn’t expect to win, but we did expect to be in the top 10. Point to improve in our design:
–> A more reliable engine (less than 40, how did I miss that?!?)
–> Overall speed and quickness

So close, yet so far…

Great job to all who participated!

Well, I learned that I have the fastest top speed of any car here. Too bad all I got out of it was a pile of steel and aluminum :stuck_out_tongue:

Congrats to koolkei for designing a car that’s fast, efficient, reliable, and practical  nice work!

I just checked the engine reliability of my car, and it is not 37 as appear in the reliability challenge, its 76.2 and the average reliability it’ 72.1, so my car should got a score of 224.5 instead of 150.2 .__ .

Too bad I was out of town to check that before :pensive:

Chalk one up for the modern pickups. Performance was the weak point in my entry, but it was a fun ride. And at least I’m alive after the crash!

well, my car was looking towards the top 5, and then they smashed it into a wall! What a shame.

@squidhead RIP KHT Monaco  guess there wasn’t much left of it after that shunt.
