Welcome everyone, to today’s press conference. All of us here from Stockholm would like to unveil the first automobile manufacturer based in Sweden, without further adieu we present; Ankomst (The Act of Arriving) Automotive!
This brand new car company based out of Stockholm, Sweden, begins operations today with support from many of the city’s elite residents. Ankomst has been awarded a large start-up fund from the city in order to enter into the Bavarian Racing Challenge (BRC) to bring the manufacturer attention in the world-wide market. The upcoming race presents a great opportunity to showcase the company’s style, as well as highlighting its build quality and engineering aspects.
Ankomst has spent the last few months preparing for the upcoming BRC and are here today to unveil the racing variant of what will become their first production car, to be released within the next few years; the Stockholm - BRC.
Ankomst believes in uncompromising quality both inside and out, as well as using a semi-minimalist approach to create beautiful cars that will be sought after for years to come. Akomst is strongly concerned with the safety of drivers and takes great effort to include not only the most advanced, but also forward thinking safety systems possible. The first car Ankomst will be mass producing, the Stockholm '48, will not only meet, but surpass existing European safety standards by including side makers making the car highly visible as well as functioning as turn signals to warn drivers in the vehicles blind spots that it is about to merge. The Stockholm '48 will also include high mounted rear brake lights that will ensure following cars see the driver braking. Advanced whiplash minimizing seating rounds out the car’s advanced safety features greatly reducing the risk of whiplash occurring in low-medium speed collisions.
The Stockholm '48 will be available for purchase during the Christmas season of 1947 with an as of yet undetermined price tag. During the two and a half year interlude Akomst will finish their engine designs and finish mating the engines, transmissions, and drive trains with the bodies that begin construction today.
We look forward to seeing Ankomst develop and hope it one day rivals the best auto manufacturers in the world.
(Will be releasing cars as I make them with no set time schedule, but cars will be presented in chronological order unless I randomly make a more modern car and post it out of order. Thoughts, comments, praises, scathing reviews?)
(This company exists in a parallel dimension that has no other automakers in Sweden)
Ankomst is proud to present the petite, 964cc V8 Race Engine intended for use in the upcoming BRC race weekend. Making a respectable 96.3 hp @ 8400 rpm, this engine capable of producing the following stats.
UPDATE: The BRC race engine has undergone a slight modification to produce more power, altered RPM curve, utilize a lower red line, and enhance its reliability!
In preparation for the upcoming BRC race, Ankomst built a second race car utilizing all of their available engine and suspension tuning expertise to really give the competition a run for their money. The new car will replace the much large version announced yesterday, which was built solely as a test vehicle meant to discover and correct errors in the tuning process before finalizing the actual competition car. Ankomst’s new car was able to complete the Nurburgring in an astonishing 10:00.79, but was run with no cooling resulting in a destroyed engine.
This run was purely for publicity as no car had been able to complete the Nurburgring in under 10 minutes previously while maintaining a strict power/weight ratio (measured in HP/KG) of .15 and not exceeding $7,000 in total costs to build the car. The driver of the car was visibly upset after coming so close to breaking the 10 minute barrier, but was also delight for having set the fastest time to date using a car built and tuned in 2 days and with only one run before the engine would be destroyed.
The following are pictures of the new race car being finalized for next weeks upcoming race.
UPDATE: The BRC car has been re-tuned yet again and is ready to participate in the BRC!

The top cars are being represented by long-time racers and companies that have been around for a long time. Joining these elite players in the top 5 is none other than Ankomst Automotive, sitting in 4th place after the first race of the season! Racking up a respectable 5th place in both runnings of the Automation Test Track, Ankomst was able to squeeze into 4th overall by a mere 3 points.
The training and qualifying races for the Brands Hatch course have completed and the Ankomst entry was able to take first place in both runs, a great achievement for this brand new company!
