Thank you, guys, for this great challenge. Everything was excellent, the pics, the reading and the rules!
So, for what I understood, if I had put a little longer gearing with a bigger max speed, the Green Arrow could have climbed some positions?

You certainly wouldn’t have capped your top speed at 148. Whether that was offset by solid acceleration capabilities is something I didn’t directly test. There’s a balance to strike, but when you know none of the tracks are highly technical, short gearing usually isn’t your friend. You also diminished the advantage your body has at high speeds. All cars have a drag limit where the engine cannot push further. Your car can go faster with equal power because it has to fight less air. That resistance is also exponential as you increase speed meaning your advantage could also be exponential. You never got close to that point because you had a mechanical limit.
next round should be awesome. I think the average power (I may bring torque into it) may stump a few of the top runners…one85 Good job man and Ornate you were so close it really came down to 0.01 in the end
a fucking hatchback won? u wot m8???
congrats @one85db. good build.
but really… im the least economical? i thought everyone would’ve gone for the fuel requirement limit, and not less.
and gears too short? i mean, if you wanna appear like one of the F&F actor and never stops shifting this car is perfect for you
i also didn’t put much thought into the track time because i thought “well if there’s gonna be a league of just purely this type of car, it’s a contest of who could push out the most out of the car, and not just how much the car offers. right?”
###NOPE
Now that I’m thinking about it, I use around 240 km/h (149 mph) as a standard when building the car and change it later, I probably forgot to change it.
Anyway, congratz to you, @one85db! @Ornate too, your car was as good!
Can’t wait for the next round.
You already forgot about this?
So close, I wish I tried to squeeze a few more ms in the drag race in exchange of losing a bit of tameness now. Eh, not that I’d knew what I’d do if I won anyway, no challenge ideas at all. Congrats to @one85db
not forgot. after the first round i never even opened the thread again.
Hence why the hlc/drc died, there was not enough leeway for open competition. This challenge is based on the old challenges mixed with the csr with a little sprinkle of the other challenges thru out the year. Lets hope (no offence meant) that more than 2 people win this
I try my best, , but I just can’t seem to win!
U were damn close this time…I was betting on you
I can give some rules a go… What do I need to include?
It would have been awesome if I had… 1 car. Two wins. Bogliq FTW!!!
Hope that answers your questions.
OK, I’ll test a couple of cars and have a ruleset posted by tomorrow evening…
Great writeups, nice photoshops and an allround good and competetive challenge I like it. And gratz to one85db and Ornate on making great small cars.
Next time i’ll try to get my car to drink less, and make it a little more reliable
Anyone feel like rally cars and offroaders?
+1
Please be rally!
Uhh I like the style how this is done and presented! Good job!
I’ll take the “Best Inline 3” AKA Novelty Award, along with the May’s Choice Award
Congrats Ornate and one85db!
And yes, I’d be up for a rally challenge. Maybe something that makes chunky off-road tyres mandatory? I see that one being an interesting rule.
