BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 7 P&Q]

Bloody hell, first my best time is 0.5s off in training from what I see in the game and then the car engine breaks.

it takes time for youtube to process the video to get better quality

Wait for YouTube to process the higher resolutions [/quote]

O, ok. Damn, my 40% switch over to wets killed me in the qualifying… DAMN YOU 38% DRIZZLE!

Hmm… car needs more umph, back to the drawing board.

ANNNDDD engine failure… 35.6 reliability let me down

…well, that was unexpected on several dimensions, especially for Packbat Auto Works. For the record, my blown engine had 28.4 reliability.

Time to make some careful, cautious revisions…

Just noticed that cars that didn’t meet the threshold of damage never got fixed. I don’t want my car running with 55 damage the whole race, I only made sure an extra pit stop wasn’t going to be needed. Like in f1 when there is minimal front wing damage, the car isn’t pitted immediately, but they still get it changed on the next stop. Is there a way to amend this?

Also, great result for a high tyre consuming car, that started from 26th and ran with serious damage during the whole race.

There are many questions for me now.
Biggest WTF is:
my car used 41,8kg of fuel in total in the race. I’ve setup a pitstop strategy of 1 Stop at 50%. Yet it starts with fuc***** 40kg of fuel???

So i basically drove around with 20kg weight penalty half the race …

Yeah, that is how its supposed to work, you start with a full tank and plan pit stops when you think you will be low on fuel / need new tires / advantageous time to pit.

Ok, so from glorious #45 on the starting grid to top 10 and my engine asploded. Engine reliability is 45, so there’s that guys. Also I see i can do with less pitstops and it seems more reliability. God damn you Communitasia engine blocks :frowning:

Edit : I got no clue how you guys are running such great lap times

I think fuel consumption in the rain might be bugged - according to my calculations based on the test practice session, my car should have expended ~26.6 kg of fuel in half an hour, not 21.2 kg.

@TheBobWiley: That’s how I would have run my race strategy, but that’s not how Der Bayer’s code is working at the moment - lots of cars are starting with partial tanks.

Edit: …hmm. If a 45 reliability isn’t enough to avoid disaster, maybe I’ll just roll with the engine as is.

Well that is complete bullshit then!

Actually thought I was doing reasonably well to get to 15th so early on in the British weather, but then British reliability took over and pop goes the engine. Decent reliability too! :frowning:

Use more fuel and you might get better lap times is what I have learned in this race  and better driveability would be nice. Wow you guys with exploding engines must be really unlucky because I do not poses such reliability and thankfully still finished.

I had a full tank 55.9kg on the practice race, but only started with 49kg for the actual race… Guess I don’t understand the fuel system entirely yet…

Man, my car just will not get any faster in-game, no matter what I change it always comes back to almost exactly 2:20:65 as the fastest time :\

I am guessing it’s all up to chance. The car hasn’t been in any collisions and both mistakes on the track did not lead to any damage, the engine just decided that it does not want me to go on if Strop is not in the race, so 4 seconds after he crashed my v8 decided to be a v7,5

Also weirdly, my best lap time is about half a second slower than in the game, as in a standing start vs a flying start.

Wow, i’m impressed by the improved speed of my car. But I guess it’s a hell to drive and a bit fragile, way too much driver errors and easy to damage it.
I can’t wait for the season and to see the specs for all the cars.

The way it is supposed to work is:

(…plus a two-lap margin of safety, I believe.)

That’s why I think there’s a bug in the program that reduces fuel use in the rain.

I missed that somewhere, thanks for re-posting it.

Ouch. Running in the top ten, then took 105% damage in one driver error. Maybe 0 safety wasn’t such a good idea.

…come to think, there might have been a bug that increased fuel use in testing, because my race fuel use was nearly on-pace for the same total as in the first test, and I didn’t change the engine at all between tests.

There must be something on it cause I finished with 10l left and that’s a lot more than 2 laps with my car…
