So I called it by the wrong name.
You probably don’t understand the difference.
4x4 is not meant to be used on tarmac roads. That’s why 4x4 cars are driven RWD on tarmac. e.g. my old Cherokee XJ.
If it is, stuff breaks.
That why AWD was invented.
4x4 in Automation just increases offroad ability.

DCOE’s are not good for the fuel consumption, unless you want it higher.
Yes, 4x4 is handled like RWD in the simulation. Sorry for the wrong labelling though.

Its not out of line with what was starting to pop up at the time.

Also these things popped up in the 60s.

It also marginally improved my down-force for whatever reason and my weight distribution.
Now if I had known that I would have done a different design that did not have 4x4 so I could use the money and weight elsewhere.
Oh, hey, that probably explains it.
4x4 in Automation terms is probably a manual locking center diff. Pull the lever, and all four wheels rotate at the same speed. As you can imagine: not very good for road travel.
AWD in Automation terms is a limited-slip center diff. Torque is distributed to whichever wheels need torque. And LSDs don’t unlock until … 1981.
So, yeah, no AWD until 1981.

It’s all about that (crazy cheap) fuel quality slider!
Also, HOT DAMN, good job on those cornering stats people, ever since BRC 1945 my cornering Gs have been awful and not sure why. Has anyone/could anyone make a video explaining how to actually go about setting it up. My current method is to try essentially every combination of settings possible…
Well i fix my P/W ratio and had a mess about with my suspension mite actually be quicker even though i lost a few bhp and a bit heaver as i up my safety a bit too. EDIT just had to knock my safety back down just noticed i went over budget.

No, actually, I noticed that, too. DCOEs have the potential for more power, but for the same power you’re burning more fuel, even at the same air/fuel ratio.
Wish I could explain how to tune up a suspension in this game, but I’ve just been feeling my way through it. I can tell you I have mad severe camber in my build, though.

I recomend starting with a race setup as the base, then fix any oversteer issues with camber and spring stiffness, after that mess around with everything untill you can’t make your car faster with sespention.
Thats what I did from memory.
I’m a fan of twiddling with swaybars and stagger (difference in tyre width front to rear), too - I usually like to save camber adjustment for last.
Edit: Swaybars can be tricky, though - be advised.
Wait…Der Bayer’s car is DQ for pwr/wgt?
0.29 … must be something wrong with the stats on the cards.
There was an error with the power to weight check, so, it is possible it was to do with that.
Thanks muchly! I was confused briefly by the “L” for inline, but it’s looking pretty cool.
Oh, that’s odd. I thought this was a transcription typo going from trump cards to spreadsheet, but it’s not: Peskyboyz is listed as OHC-5. Should that be OHC-3? I didn’t think DOHC-5 was unlocked.
Edit: Engine reliability 113.5? Was this a BRCTool export error?
Also, did no-one go DOHC or is that distinction just not shown on the trump cards?
There are several that are over 0.25 power/weight ratio… up to 0.3, something is very wrong, or is this just a typo?
Now that I think about it that seems likely that is the case.
