Look at the drive:sport ratios. The better it is the faster the car ought to go around the track in comparison.
@Riso: That canât be it, though. iRaptor has a ratio of 1.31 and Packbat has a ratio of 0.83, but I was catching iRaptor when the track was wetter and falling behind as it dried.
I noticed that cars which are close to their grip limit during acceleration (because of lots of power) will perform worse than cars with low power. Tyre width is the same, so the low-powered cars donât have to cut down acceleration during rain as much as the high-powered cars.
Edit: Please send in your strategy updates within the next 24 hours. Thanks!
@Der Bayer: âŚthat makes a lot of sense. It never occurred to me, but that makes perfect sense: in full wet conditions, youâre losing ~20% grip, and there are definitely people within that distance of their maximum grip for 80-120 acceleration.
Heck, hereâs my acceleration grip curve.
Compare that to Puffsterâs - and then compare our relative performance in the wet vs. our relative performance in the dry. That is a key design tip for future seasons of the BRC: excess grip for 80-120 acceleration!
Edit: Itâs not purely an amount-of-power thing - itâs power vs. grip. I have an extra 25 hp on Puffster, but thanks to the car body I went with I have a lot more weight in the tail than Puffster does.
This is very good info, I will definetly do a lot of things differently next time Iâm building for BRC
Thanks for another great insight Packbat, some nightly food for thought does wonders
Correction: Der Bayerâs insight. I didnât come up with that one. Credit Der Bayer.
My entry should be doing reasonably well in the wet then some grip reserves to go on in acceleration.
Alright, the setup update phase for Knockhill has now ended. Stay tuned for the race tomorrow!
At 1.3 miles long, will this finally be the race where Vikus sets a flying lap? Stay tuned!
Iâm sorry, but, Rain + 69 cars + super small trackâŚ
âŚitâll be lucky if anyone can set a lap! The starting lineupâs gonna take up half the track as it is.
Sticking with my two stopper again, probably not ideal whether for me XD
Also, those reviews where awesome! Really enjoying them.
I would agree that itâs not ideal, but it probably wonât cost you more than twenty seconds in the end depending on how you timed your stops. In a one-stopper youâd have been taking close to 40 kg of fuel.
Also, have yâall seen Part 2 of the reviews? There would be a Part 3 coming soon as well, if it werenât for my completely forgetting to set an alarm and missing our scheduled recording session. Again.

I just noticed my carâs not in the list even though I sent it to Genjeft on Jan 28.
@Riso: I donât have it in my files, either - resend to the two of us?
Enjoyed the reviews
Fingers crossed for finishing the raceâŚthird timeâs the charm.
Hello.
Yea part 2 is up now.

Its been up since Thursday I have just been to busy to post it to the forums again.
Riso, I dont know what happened to the first car you sent in, but I got it the 2nd time.
Packpat and I also have a couple of FWD test cars that we made that we might do a special on because of the odditys of the FWD setup and how surprisingly quick they can be.

How dare you miss the 3rd part⌠thatâs the one with my car
Thanks for the videos, always appreciated!
In case anybody wants to analyze the statistics. I made this when they were released, but Acemaster had already posted theirs, so I didnât do anything with it.
