Grats to all who made it! The races will be published at some point next week.

OMG :open_mouth:

Haha I was not expecting that at all!

My car was only tested on this track, so that might be a part of it.

Just checking does “The fastest 38 cars will qualify for the races.” mean for ALL races or just this one?

For the two races on this track

Wow, someone was Absurdly quick on this xD

Nice job Martin! Great format too  the short qualifying keeps the tension up very well. One question though: you probably have a good reason for why drivers don’t make errors in the qualifying, could you share your thought process with us?
Cheers! My first thought would be that this gives a disadvantage, on average, to the most drivable cars in the field.

37th :open_mouth:

shot…clock…cheese

I decided against major errors (minor errors are not reported) because fast cars might not be able to start in two races because of a single error and this could cause a lot of frustration. I probably did not think about the issue of taking the drivability advantage away from the slower cars. If most of the participants want major errors in qualifying, I can turn them back on easily.

Ahh, interesting! I think if minor errors are in and major errors are out, it may be worth displaying the minor errors during qualifying  if there are not far too many of them.

You’re definitely right about the frustration thing with big errors, but that leads to the question: how big are big errors? If a car loses half a second or even a second due to a big error, that would not only cause frustration, but also drama  and drama is a good thing in racing. But yeah, I’d be interested in hearing what others think about this balance

I can say I’m more than pleased with the Ardent’s qualifying run. I expected to be somewhere in the 15-24 range. 8th is damn good.

Hey, Place 39…
So close! Next Time I will spend more than an hour in constructing. Good luck to everyone.

Saw 4th place, finished 6th. I will take that, feels good for my first car I ever built in this game

Oh Dear…

It seems my car has taken a huge step backward… Der Bayer do you plan on updating the cards seeing as we have a couple of fixes etc with the recent updates.

going with 145 tyres was probably a bad idea

The whole challenge will be done with what I have. Changes always mean lots of work and some people will always complain if things change during a challenge.
That’s much better than I expected. I’d have a good chance of qualifying in most events for a start :stuck_out_tongue: I thought I’d be well more than 3s off the pace, so unaggressive was my tune this time around.

Still a bit bothered by my tyre wear though. I even reduced camber but I guess the brakes are causing problems.
I’m on that train, idk why but I’ve reduced camber, wheel load and wheel spin, even a slightly lighter car… I got better lap times in every track and the conclusion is… a mistery.
BTW, I’ve seen in Der Bayer’s cards that I got some extra 2.5 Kg from somewhere…, you know a click here, a tweak there, and you are doom with a bad setting hehe.
Anyway, hopefully we will have more events to try and see how the tweaks work along the practises.

Great work Der Bayer, keep it up man!!

Great stuff, second place. Now to hope that my car can pull a big enough advantage to the fast cars on sector one so it doesn’t get passed on sector two .

I’ll be on your heels, Leo! Unfortunately you’re one of the few I can’t catch off the line right away with better acceleration xD

Im so stoked for 24th with my untested more economical version

Znopresk was saved from a major disaster thanks to a suggestion about the gearbox from someone into Baltazar Automoveis.
Thanks to this the car is now competitive and I’m very curious about the race.

12th, hopefully I can get into the top 10 during the actual races.
