The Sigma has always been the car of choice since the early 50’s.

The Sigma has always been the car of choice for the bank robbers.

The Sigma has always been the car of choice for state representatives.

Why is that?

For the excellence of its technology, performance and presence.

For 1995, MAHG gives to its large sedan a slight make up but mostly a new engine, a nice one at that.

A new turbocharged 5.0L straight 6, tuned for, as usual, torque, fuel efficiency and silence.

An engine consistent with MAHG’s traditions: Puissance, Silence, Présence.

The facelift includes a third rear brake light (into the rear wing for this GT model), new lower front bumper, new wheels and updated Hi-Fi.

Still quite energic the previous straight 6 is replaced for 1995 with this new unit.

It provides the power the Sigma deserves, to reach the top speed/performance war started by the german manufacturers.

The new configuration provides 100Nm more torque 200 rpm lower compared to the actual setup and still providing more power up in the range while giving smooth delivery from 1700 to 4500rpm.

More power doesn’t mean worse fuel efficency. This new assembly lowers its fuel consumption by a whole liter.

On the outside, the new anti-fog lamps provides a wider lighting as well as better penetration.

The new rear wing provides more stability at high speeds, stability needed to endure the higher top speed.

Oddity from the past, this generation still benefits the twin fuel tank setup to maximize range up to 950km.

The Sigma has always been the executive car to own

And now more than ever.

1995 KPS K10 V8 4.5

Forever and always, it’s always here… to make you feel better.

Interior

Why would you buy a KPS K10 over any other full-sized luxury car in its class? There are three main reasons - and all of them are very convincing, as the latest road tests have shown.

  • More brawn than Mitch Buchannon - Under the hood you’ll find a 4.5L 32-valve V8 delivering 276 bhp and 275 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via an electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission and a viscous LSD. This powertrain combination yields an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph and a 0-60 time of just 7.4 seconds - perfectly adequate for cutting through dense urban traffic, and with the smooth torque curve, especially well-suited to long-distance interstate cruising. Of course, you can order bigger, more powerful engines if you wish, at extra cost (both up front and at the pump), although the trade-off is significantly improved acceleration.

  • More brains than Stephanie Holden - The K10 comes with all the latest safety and convenience features as standard. Self-leveling air suspension with adaptive dampers gives surprisingly good handling for its size, as well as a smooth ride over any kind of road with the standard 16-inch or optional 17-inch wheels. Traction control and 4-wheel vented disc brakes with ABS make avoidance maneuvers easier than ever, while dual airbags keep you safe in case things go wrong. The K10 is also built to last - its bodyshell is made mostly of corrosion-resistant steel, with some strategically placed aluminum panels to save weight, so you will never, ever have to worry about rust taking hold anywhere on the body or chassis.

  • More beauty than C. J. Parker - All this power and tech is wrapped in a sleek, understated 4-door body that exudes a refined elegance from every angle. 16 exterior and 8 interior colors are available, with an option for a two-tone interior finish. Speaking of the interior, we only use the finest materials, with 5 seats trimmed in genuine leather, plus genuine wood and/or aluminum trim. A high-end sound system with 6 speakers, CD player and tape deck keeps all the occupants entertained on the move, while power-adjustable seats and climate-controlled air conditioning help you feel comfortable even on the hottest summer days. On top of that, there’s enough trunk space for a long road trip with up to four other occupants.

The KPS K10 lineup starts at $48,900 for the V8 4.5 model shown. Will you be ready? Our most loyal customers definitely are.

Only 7.4? I thought invoking The Hoff would make it faster…

I was referring to the availability of larger, more powerful engines as options. Then again, 7.4 seconds to 60 mph was par for the course in '95 given the engine’s output.

I also toyed with the idea of using a more powerful state of tune - until I realized that I would have sacrificed too much fuel economy for insufficient extra acceleration had I done so.

Also, I needed quite a fair bit of time to settle on a suitable body - I rejected one test build for being a statistical underachiever considering the size of the body it used, and passed up another one built on a smaller body for fear that it too would be outgunned in some key aspects.

A Somervell Spear brochure

The Somervell Spear was built on Arlington’s very first modern executive platform, the UFR. Retaining the wishbone suspension of its body-on-frame predecessors and using a multilink derivative of the semi-trailing arm suspension found in Arlington’s sportscar platform, it had excellent handling characteristics to go along with its luxury interior and modern engines, and functioned as the true flagship and price pinnacle of the whole corporation while Arlington’s larger yet cheaper body-on-frame sedans peacefully lived out their last decade.

This Spear is in its XPS trim, meaning it gets a large yet somewhat lazy 5.4-liter V8 and the best interior Arlington’s production lines can spawn.
