I can already see I’m overpriced compared to 2 very direct competitors. Bit of a shame considering I had lots of room to lower the price, oh well I guess I was just too greedy.
EDIT:
Umm… what’s up with Bonhin break even/max produciton?
He either set the price or the factory size wrong. I remember someone doing that in the last competition too
I aimed my car more for the mid $, mid $$, and family markets. Looking at it now I could have boosted the Prestige a little and charged a couple thousand more and I would have been better off. I think I have the safest car that is under $25,000.
I learnt from my mistake last time and entered a cheap sports car. Looks like I made the right decision since I have the sportiest car on the market and it costs way less than the competition.
Also, while I remember, I found a minor loophole in the calculations. Anyone with a naturally aspirated car could set their aspiration quality to -15 to save some research costs without being penalised for anything. I didn’t work out how much you save, but I figure every little helps

You pretty much annihilated me. I almost fainted when I saw your car. Twice, one for beating me on numbers and other for how ugly it was.
I actually think Reaper had one of the better looking ones. It does convey the idea of extreme, non compromising design. Of course, some practical considerations, like the wing reducing the visibility to the front would make this car a bitch to manuever on parkings, but… It’d make up for these problems on a test track, I think.
Now for real, it’s not ugly. But it would have been more appropriate for the 82 challenge. That front just scream 80’s escort. And it was in the 80’s that the first and only front winged car was sold, the 80’s american countach.
This time it was a pretty tough challenge with lots of people losing money. What is really surprising is that we had no proper supercar among the competitors. Here are the results:
Grats to the winners and thanks to everyone for participating! I hope you had fun! Please post your thoughts and ideas. Next challenge will start in a few days!
What? The cars with the most marketshare on the HotHatch group have 0 sportiness!!! That’s ridiculous!
I feel cheated!
If you want to feel cheated, feel free to do so. Price is more important now (as many people wanted last time) and this made the cheaper cars more attractive. Please consider that they are less than half of your price. People can buy a different engine or tune the shit out of the car for the difference. In addition to that, sportiness is not the only factor which counts.
#11 in market share, and over 300M profit. Sold every car I could possibly build. Not bad for my first try. And as I suspected, I underpriced and underproduced.
Well… I’m sort of dissapointed in that my car got a place just outside the Top 3 in the compact market (and the overall marketshare). Still, the actual 1st place in Offroad $ (Since I’ve actually made profit), and Top 3 in Offroad $$ are some nice achievents.
