The Centauri sprite X, late to the party and only packing 1883cc and a smallish turbo. there’s nothing much to see here.
Smooth Po-Sha JSR
if you say the name very choppy it sounds kind of Japanese
With barley 276PS on overboost. Sureee…
Ahh, what’s Japanese racing in the 90’s without a blackbird
yes, tomorrow, the “276” PS war will commence.
WE’RE TURNING JAPANESE, I SAY WERE TURNING JAPANESE I REALLY THINK SO!!!
it’s JDM time, and 10 cars are gonna run all of the “276” hp they have!!!
Lets look at the cars:
CSM Why @Spool
Well, it’s ugly.
ugly color, ugly features, ugly badges, just plain ugly.
and it only has 8.7 in drivability, so it’s barely controllable
it IS, however, very light at 977kg and has a 3L I6 Turbo with 401 hp, so it should be lightning quick. definitely one to watch.
Birch Kummeli @Detsikeulii
Now, as we’ve always seen with Birch, the looks are A1 grade. really nice and complex, without going overboard with aggression. and it looks TANGY!!!
the performance stats are also pleasing on the eyes. 400hp from a sub 2000cc inline 6, and, at 1023kg, it’s pretty light.
HOWEVER, the car has all the safety of a Sudanese toilet filled with dysentery and Jeffery Dahmer. seriously. its 0.
GAMMA SM250 @Nomade0013
Unoffensive in the looks department, but nothing to rave about either. just bland.
specs are a little less bland with 400hp from a 2.5 litre turbo 4, and it weighs 1066kg, so nothing too heavy, but not the lightest.
and, again, you crash, you dead. 0.
FFM Legionnaire MK6 @Darkshine5
Well, it looks like the French want a slice of the JDM tuna roll, and FFM are leading the charge.
Looks wise, it’s interesting, to say the least, but way too busy at the front and a little disconnect between the front and rear.
it has a 2323cc Inline 6 Turbo with, again, 400hp. but this time, it’s rear mounted. a little strange for this kind of body style. it’s a tad heavy at 1106kg, and it may struggle being only RWD.
and total abandon to saftey is kinda becoming a theme, here…
VPOWER SK ACE @MitsubishiFan
this car from new kid VPOWER is good looking enough, but a little bare from the front end back. but a good effort none the less.
a 2.8 Liter Inline 6 Turbo is at the heart of this AWD Coupe, pumping out the standard 400hp.
at 1198kg, it’s the heaviest so far, but also very drivable and safe, so at least its usable in a day to day situation. so props for that.
Centauri Sprite X @nialloftara
this is an ugly and boring runt of a hatchback. modern body with 10 year old fixtures is a big no-no in my eyes.
the engine, though, is pure wizardry. 400hp from a 1.9 Inline 4 Turbo is rather special. and, at 1017kg, it’s not exactly weighty.
again, this is a car you could use daily as its safe and drivable, so kudos to that.
Smooth Po-Sha JSR @AirJordan
BLU DUCKY!!!
seriously, this is tacky, bare, and a decade out of date. and what is with that dumpy ass cabin?? so many questions, so little time, anyway…
it’s rear engined, with a 2.4 V6 Turbo, this time. again 400hp is being pushed out, but only to the rear wheels. but, the rear wheels are mahoosive, though.
but, the trump card for the Po-Sha is weight. at only 807kg, this is a serious machine that should in no way be under estimated. this could be a winner…
Miyagi @CMT
this car is a very clean looker. nothing too much, but nothing too sparse, either. just a shame about that god awful name (it’s a throwback, but wrong market for the name to work)
a 3 Litre V6 turbo that puts out only 389hp, so a little down on power, and it weighs 1404kg, so it’s a beefy car that lacks power. i have low hopes of this making it out of the qualifiers.
but, again, this is a car you could EASILY live with this on a day to day basis, and it’s probably the best for that here, too.
Bogliq Samurai Turbo @HighOctaneLove
So, Moldova is taking on the Japanese at their own game? never though i’d see the day.
The Samurai looks, well, classic Bogliq. a well styled car with that unmistakable blue hue on the body.
my only complaint with the looks is the forward most hood vents seem a little much, in my opinion.
a 3.5 Liter Inline 6 Turbo puts out 399bhp, so, again, slightly lacking in power, and only to the rear wheels. and, again, it’s heavy at 1371kg. another one i fail to see going out of qualifying.
but, this is a truly good sportscar for the real world. and that RWD means is a true drivers car. i wholly approve!
ADM SVL-6 Turbo DP @abg7
it smol. it rely smol.
i like the looks here, a nice compact sports roadster with the requisite amount of aggression without looking stupid. however i can’t help but feel it lacks “something” though.
in the back of this MR car, we have a 3.6 Liter V6 Turbo that makes a slightly lackluster 392hp to the rear wheels.
i am also quite amazed that they managed to make such a small roadster so damned heavy. it’s 1205kg, which is not heavy for most cars, i’ll grant you, but for this? it’s about 200kg overweight.
again, it is a car that can stand up to the real world, and it’s still quite sporty, in spite of the excess fat. so thats a plus.
race results will follow tomorrow
Boring but drivable, the Sprite is indeed the toyota Corolla of the centauri lineup, let’s see what the smallest engine pulling the third lightest car with the help of AWD can accomplish.
Yeah, I need to agree that GAMMA’s marketing people were a little too noise about the design, since they didn’t have a really good point to say about the SM250…
But looks like it will be a nice challenge for the second place.
More passenger space = more cheap comfort
@AirJordan I am amazed you hit the comfort with the weight that low, I tried out the body you used and found my engine in it picked up some 4 tenths in the stat page and 2 tenths in actual time at the weight yours is. Looks like you’re going to be tough to beat.
He is the grand champ after all. Beeting smooth motors meens you have built a damn fast car
There’s a reason it’s called a Why!
‘The answer to a question nobody asked.’
The japanese had many such cars.

Smooth Po-Sha JSR Wins!!! Congratulations @AirJordan for the 4th title!!!
No surprises here; @AirJordan slotted the best possible engine into the best possible body (in terms of weight and how it is distributed), optimized the gearing and aero for a quarter-mile pass and won! Well done @AirJordan. You seem to have gotten the hang of this contest - and mastered it.
Exactly. I had done a prototype with the same 911 body, but couldn’t make a time so good, soisn’t just the body/engine, but you really mastered it.
Congrats, man!
Welp, at least I can comfort myself with the fact that my car was the fastest of the non-qualified bunch And once again, congrats to the reigning emperor, @AirJordan
Nice win @AirJordan even my perfect run didn’t touch your average. That body really was the best choice, well done tuning it for comfort and speed like that.
My champions pick is Centauri Sprite X , because is just like most of 90’s japanese sport cars, no one ever asked fot it (even more for a 1.9L turbo 4-banger), but they choose to make it anyway. So congrats @nialloftara.
Thanks for kind world guys! And thanks @Darkshine5 @JohnWaldock for another entertaining round.
This one I really had a feeling I nailed it and it shows. It seems I got a hang of doing unrealistic yet fast cars on tight budget.
For the next round I do not have any ideas and/or time to create some so if you all agree may the second fastest (@spool CSM Why) make the rules.
sounds fine to me
