Micro Machine Challenge Ep. 2! *scrapped, because I'm a dumbass*

Still working on mine. It’s a challenge, but I’m intentionally trying not to go micro-car and at least stay sub-compact or compact. So, I’m trying several different engine designs, displacements, fart-fans or naturally aspirated, all in the name of trying to maximize power, minimize weight, and cause fun.

Agreed, using the micro bodies just feels a bit too easy. Unfortunately the mini supercar body is also too large!

Well, I know which body is a bit op for the task, let’s see what it can do.

Does anybody know if cars made in closed beta will load in open? I… already had enough trouble switching over and I don’t want to go back lol

oh yeah. on stable or on beta?
and just opened it up again today. there’s some update downloading. just a notification

and also… @strop. i always thought the guys with closed beta, have separate and independent instances from the one from the steam

so in search of that OP body which strop said.
i managed to make THIS.
a 0 drivability micro monster.

soooo i made it and spent about 20 min figuring out what went wrong.
hmm… a 1.8l v6 making 660hp and having 5% efficiency? (10.0:1 afr)

that can’t be it
maybe… the fact it’s indefinitely spinning forever on it’s way to car heaven?

eh. that can’t be it either.

AH! maybe the fact that it consumes fuel at a rate of 2,7km/l, and it’s gonna need a fuel tank that amounts to 30% of the car’s weight.
######(6.35mpg or 37.037.037L/100km)

nonononono. i’ve seen worse (i remember hearing irl racing trucks get 2 mpg(UK))
maybe the fact that it has perfect 70/30 weight distribution, has a top speed of 317km/h
0-60 in 4.5 despite being an FF, and stops from 100km/h in less than 28m.

i’m still not convinced.

frankly i dunno what’s wrong.
could someone tell me :stuck_out_tongue:

######(actually i really don’t know what’s wrong. and it’s not the car i will be entering. despite having way more power, it’s more than 10secs slower than my FR that i already got down to 818kg with 6 gears and power steering.)

Changed designs again, decided I was tired of fighting the larger body and it’s increased weight, and went a bit smaller and a touch lighter. And then realized I could do something… Incredibly stupid.

804 kg, knocking on the door of 500 hp, RWD, nearly 1.8l V8. Power steering and it has more than 4 speeds.

After having some fun at the pub some drunk engineers decided to go back to the Fahrzeug building and have some more excitement. They stole an original Fahrzeug M1 form the lobby (and scratched the '99 C2) to make into a race car for an American backyard track race! Some Google searches later they found this competition and decided to enter their car. The next day the police were looking for the car so instead of putting it in a extra storage garage they painted it green and named it the Lime. Ready to race all the other fruit!

Stats
0-100 kph in 3.3 seconds
Top speed of 271 kph
802.3 kg (or 1768 lbs. and 12 oz.)
7 speed manual
16 inch tires
Aluminum - Fibre Glass body
1.6 litre V8 Flatplane engine
Overall deathtrap :checkered_flag:

(keep forgetting to add stats)

Dem decals

It’s 2015, birds are chirping, bees are buzzing, and it’s looking to be a good day.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the screaming of a barely-muffled V8 bouncing off of the rev limiter sends all the birds scattering, the bees stop buzzing, and the cloud of exhaust fumes threatens to blot out the sun.

This unhinged little monster is the Storm Atom GTR. The driver is Luke, having way too much fun with the most obnoxious looking vehicle in the lineup so far.

Guaranteed that once Luke arrives in the staging area, he’ll need to use that spare set of tires he’s carrying behind the seats. After all, it’s a perfect opportunity to leave a good set of stripes in the Normandy Automotive parking lot, because there looks to be more than enough cars with insane horsepower, and barely controllable natures, that there’s going to be plenty of burnout stripes. Who’s going to notice yet another set?

(I’ll admit, after three or four design changes, I kinda gave up with ‘sensible’ designs for the body. Might as well be as insane outside as it is within.)

what in the flying fuck that :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

The equivalent of throwing a Formula 1 V8 in a shopping cart and calling it a car.

btw the engine year is 2015. What about the rest of the car?

Too much wheelspin brah. And that’s with FF not being properly penalised for cornering under power!

That said 660hp is impressive stuff. I wanna use that in something else, but unfortunately a lot of the bodies I’m testing just don’t support such things. OP body I mentioned was only good for top speed, but useless everywhere else (max 205 rears, pfffft).

Oh wait, I think I know exactly what the OP body is  I’m quite a fan of it myself, but I’m not entering this challenge.

Alright people. I’ve just run the first set of preliminary tests, and a few things are… off.

Firstly: You guys come up with the weirdest names for shit.

Secondly: HighOctaneLove, I could have sworn I told you to set the year to 2015. Not 1975…

Thirdly: Darkshine, your tires keep exploding. Fix it. (However I did get it to work once)

Fourthly: LordVader, I’ve got no clue what body you’re rolling, but It won’t load. Send me a link to the mod.

Thank you! I thought it was fitting. It’s small, it’s fast, and often deadly if split.

not sure what’s the point of final race is we have that (or vice versa)

but now I know that my un-fine-tuned car is as fast as Minirod.

I want to give people the chance to tune and tweak before anything official starts.

clearly, i haven’t done enough research yet. im still about 2:04-2:05

Managed to slowly whittle away some time on mine, though nowhere near complete yet. Trying all sorts of… interesting ideas.
