In a similar vein, is doing the X tape over the headlights ok?
These track times are so weird, I change fuel mixture by one tick, the laptime increases by .04; I change one of the sway bars by 50, laptime increases by .15
I seem to have found a very tight window where the car performs at its best. I have reached ultimate minmaxxing.
Nevermind I just found 2 minutes. Also car reliability is broken - by adjusting the rev limiter back and forth, I could bump it up by an extra 1.5, which is quite a lot.
Adjusting gear ratio can help, but not that much. My car sticks on 3rd at <5000 rpm (while my redline is at 7600) in more than some twisty parts of the track. And in a 2 litres l6 things starts to happen above 6k rpm. Horsepower, top speed and displacement seems not to be the main thing to look at, which makes the challenge quite interesting. Also, seeing a 850cc in sub 12h makes me feel pain… Apparently there’s plenty to fix
Yes!
Do we need to build an interior or will only the exterior design be judged?
i am having trouble finding the “Demographic Score (Normalized Desirability)” and also the aproximate cost. could somone help me find these?
I don’t think anyone has asked regarding the marketability of the cars. As mentioned in the video, the cars would have to be able to sell realistically yet how many cars would have to be sold to be considered realistic or atleast acceptable?
I had this question because my car is under the budget limit yet it only sells 3-6. Its a reasonable 11 and a quarter hour, 2L Sport.
This is implicitly checked by the normalized desirability. If it’s “desirable” enough (>80%) it’s marketable enough.
Alrighty then. Its well above 180 and 230% in several categories. Thanks yall. The 3 cars sold estimate scared me a little cuz to me that car aint realistically selling at all.
I think that’s not an unrealistic number for the time. To give an example of the real mille Miglia 1953: of the Ferrari 350MM only 10 were made in total, most of which were probably for the works team (so not sold).
You only need to exceed this threshold for at least one of the market demographics listed in the OP for eligibility.
On very important and critical point is that you need to set the max price of your class in the Market section as the sale price of the car for the normalized values to be accurate - the game randomly sets market values, usually much lower, so this step must not be skipped (and might have to be done multiple times since it resets)
Oh wow! In that context that seems totally fine. Thanks
I want to build something for this but I’m really not sure what. My 2.6m wheelbase 2-door sedan test build for the over-2000cc touring category was listed as being unsellably dangerous for all relevant demographics even with +3 quality Advanced 50s safety fitted, but my 2.2m wheelbase aluminum spaceframe coupe test build for the Sports category had no problem selling to Sports Budget buyers even with None safety.
Wait, are we allowed to adjust the quality of the components?
Yes, except for tire quality which must be 0
Just out of curiosity, are there any other participants for the 1300cc sports class? If yes, what times are you getting? My best is currently a 11:50
