1975 PILLAR 3200ML

The “Phénix Industrie Lourde, Logistique et ARmement” (PILLAR) group is an offspring of Phénix Auto that focuses on industrial, commercial and military vehicles of all kinds.

This heavy duty truck is a special ML (Milspec) edition - while not strictly military, it includes a few improvements vs the usual consumer version C-series or X-series.

First, the body shell mounted on the steel ladder chassis is entirely made of aluminium. Second, the engine is not the usual refurbished 2L Helios boxer engine but actually half of the military built 392 V8 engine. This 4 cylinder 3.2L produces 92hp net and 195 lb-ft of torque and is coupled with a heavy duty 5-speed manual transmission.

The major changes does not stops there as this edition is the first transverse mounted engine from any Phénix brand, as they are used to boxer engines. This allows extra traction at the front and makes it quite good in rough terrain couple with the skid tray. Compared to the X-series, this allows the ML edition to not include a complex and unreliable 4x4 transfer case.

With only 2 seats in front, it leaves a bit more room to the occupants, and it provides an 8-track as standard and more than a barebone interior. The ML is a true workhorse at a slight premium compared to the C-series or X-series.

Hi there,

Quick question, does anyone know how i am able to see my car engine’s emissions? For some reason it just states “None”. Thanks!
Emissions

You can only see emissions when actually the engine is actually in a completed automobile, as things like the gearbox affect emissions.

If you are looking at a completed car, there is a known glitch where the emissions don’t show on the summary page at the end of the design process; you have to go to the drivetrain tab or back to the engine (if I recall correctly off the top of my head). Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, but still looks like it is not working, even when going back and forth from drivetrain or engine… :man_shrugging:

A front-wheel-drive truck? o_O

Are you using leaded or unleaded fuel?

Regular unleaded 91 RON, checked with leaded fuel or injection instead of carburator but no difference

Thats weird, even without a cat or an exaust reactor it should still easilly be be above 0, maybe your mixture is way too rich

hey, here’s where you check for the emission your engine is making (you kinda have to finish the whole trim setup as weight and aero plays into your emissions at the end i believe)

1975 Flint Cumberland

The Cumberland River winds through farmlands, mountains, wilderness, and cities as it makes its way through the southern United States. And the Cumberland from Flint Motors is ready to get the job done in any of these settings, whether you’re winding your way along a mountain trail, working around the farm, or just commuting to work.

Start with the Endurance trim at only $10,000 (not pictured), offering all of the essentials you need: a high-torque 2.8L 4-cylinder engine, sturdy leaf-spring suspension for load-hauling, and all-terrain tires that make even the real-wheel-drive Endurance trim a capable vehicle in dirt and mud. Inside, you’ll find a durable vinyl bench and rubber floor mats that don’t mind getting dirty, as well as a standard AM radio to keep you entertained.

Or step up to the Standard trim (pictured) for $12,500, which adds both practicality and comfort. A smooth, more powerful 3.0L V6 provides enhanced towing and hauling capability. 4-wheel drive and a manual locking differential make no surface too tough for the Cumberland. And on the inside, an upgraded interior with plush cloth seats and an AM/FM/8-track sound system adds a touch of civility to this tough workhorse.

And of course, no matter which Cumberland you choose, it comes backed by Flint’s commitment to building some of the longest-lasting vehicles on the road. So visit your local Flint dealer today to see what you can tackle behind the wheel of a Cumberland.

Flint Motors. Quality First.

Lore Notes

The Cumberland is the direct successor to the Flint Adirondack 97 that appeared in JOC6A and is also the utility variant of the Flint Ozark that appeared in JOC6C, except the Ozark has a coil-spring suspension instead of the Cumberland’s leaf springs given the Ozark’s focus on off-roading. The Ozark and the Cumberland are identical from the cab up, and the Ozark was intended from the start to have a pickup variant.

When the Adirondack 97 was introduced in 1958, inspired by the commercial success of the Jeep, Flint was already selling a full-size Adirondack pick-up; the decision was made to use “Adirondack” as a common name for Flint’s pickup trucks, with the full-size pick-up becoming the Adirondack 131. The numbers were based on each vehicle’s wheelbase measured in inches. An SUV version of the Adirondack 97 was also offered as the Adirondack Trapper.

But this naming convention was confusing for having two distinct vehicles with nearly identical names and odd numerical designations, as well as an SUV version with an additional moniker. As a result, when the next generation was introduced in 1966, the full-size pickup reverted to being simply the “Adirondack,” the Adirondack 97 became the Cumberland, and the Adirondack Trapper became the Ozark.

And yes, in case you’re wondering, the Cumberland Endurance (which I built but did not enter in this challenge in favor of the upgraded Standard trim) is almost but not quite as uncomfortable as the original Adirondack 97. But hey, at least it’s got a tinny AM radio! (What do you expect for $10 grand!?)

Vizzuri VN02 Lightweight '75

Shown in Azure

In the mid 70’s Vizzuri released the VN02, a replacement to the aged VN01 with it’s roots in the 1950s. The VN02 chassis came in few different wheelbase sizes as well as the “VN02LW” configuration, a lightweight corrosion resistant steel ladder chassis, utilising an independent front and a solid axle leaf sprung rear suspension.

The VN02 Lightweight came with either a 2.5L Inline or 4.0L Inline 6 mated to a 4-speed manual or 3-speed automatic gearbox with a manual locker as standard. Performance was half-decent for a light truck: 0-62mph time of 11.5s and 106mph top speed. It also is able to haul up to 2170kg maximum load capacity. (Performance of 4.0L I6 stated)

Standard equipment: Spare rear wheel (below rear bumper), Standard 8 Track Radio, Manually adjustable air-ventilation, Protective offroad undertray.
Additional equipment: Roll bar, Mudflaps with Vizzuri lettering, Bianco coloured side & rear stripe package.
