Unmatched Performance

At the core of the 329L-NUSS-SHSR-85 lies a 32-valve DOHC 90° V8 configuration, offering an exhilarating driving experience. With a displacement of 329 cubic inches (5398 cc), this engine generates a formidable 395.1 horsepower at 5800 RPM and a robust 398.4 lb-ft of torque at 4600 RPM. The wide power band ensures thrilling acceleration, while the high 6300 RPM redline allows you to push the limits with confidence.

Engineered for Excellence

Every aspect of the 329L-NUSS-SHSR-85 is designed with precision. The cast iron block provides unparalleled strength and durability, while the aluminum 4-valve DOHC heads optimize airflow for enhanced performance. The 92.0 mm bore and 101.5 mm stroke deliver the perfect balance between power and efficiency, making this engine ideal for both high-speed performance and everyday driving.

Advanced Internal Components

Inside the 329L-NUSS-SHSR-85, forged steel crankshafts and connecting rods ensure maximum strength under the most demanding conditions. The lightweight forged pistons reduce inertia, allowing for quicker throttle response and improved fuel efficiency. The dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) design, coupled with solid lifters and roller rockers, ensures precise valve control, contributing to the engine’s overall responsiveness and efficiency.

Precision-Tuned Performance

This engine is more than just raw power. The 11.5:1 compression ratio is optimized for both performance and fuel economy, while the 27% cam profile and 36% springs & lifters balance high-RPM capability with low-RPM drivability. The Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and Variable Valve Lift (VVL) systems deliver seamless power across the entire RPM range, with VVL activation at 3400 RPM ensuring a smooth transition from economy to performance modes.

Efficient Induction and Exhaust Systems

The naturally aspirated induction system features multipoint electronic fuel injection for precise fuel delivery, ensuring optimal combustion under all conditions. The single throttle body intake and standard plenum intake manifold are engineered for consistent airflow, contributing to the engine’s smooth power delivery. The dual 2.0" stainless steel exhaust pipes, paired with high flow three-way catalytic converters, ensure that the 329L-NUSS-SHSR-85 not only performs brilliantly but also meets the strictest emissions standards.

Sound and Refinement

The 329L-NUSS-SHSR-85 is not just an engine; it’s an auditory experience. The exhaust system, featuring straight through primary mufflers and reverse flow secondary mufflers, produces a deep, resonant exhaust note that is both aggressive and refined. The sound is engineered to enhance the driving experience, ensuring that the engine’s performance is felt and heard in equal measure.

Innovative Engine Management and Longevity

Equipped with an advanced ECU featuring multi-mode driving capabilities, the 329L-NUSS-SHSR-85 allows drivers to select the optimal engine performance mode for any driving condition. The engine is also engineered with Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) in mind, offering a smooth and refined driving experience. With a recommended service interval of 7,500 miles or 12 months, and backed by a 5-year / 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, the 329L-NUSS-SHSR-85 ensures reliability and peace of mind for years to come.

I tried a few inline sixes first, including a couple diesels. The gearbox penalty was too costly for me. I’m curious what your power curve looks like.

Meet the Flint Blue Ridge. The UN-Compromised Utility Vehicle.

When you need to tow, haul, and go offroad, you don’t need a station wagon on tall tires that advertises “car-like handling” or a “car-based suspension.” You need the capability of a traditional full-size, truck-based SUV like the Flint Blue Ridge.

The Blue Ridge offers everything you’ve come to expect from a full-size SUV. A beefy solid rear axle with leaf spring suspension that offers over 4100 pounds of payload capacity. A high-torque engine that delivers 292 lb-ft of torque at only 3700 rpm to provide nearly 3900 pounds of towing capacity. 3 rows of spacious seating for up to 8.

But the Blue Ridge doesn’t just offer the same-old designs of yesteryear. It takes the best of a full-size SUV and thoughtfully enhances it with the best of today’s technology. An advanced high strength steel frame that incorporates unibody-style crumple zones in the front chassis provides excellent structural rigidity and crash safety. A standard load-leveling air suspension improves load capacity, offroad handling, and ride comfort. And an advanced Wide Bore Type III engine delivers V8-type power with the smoothness and simplicity of an inline 6-cylinder engine, all while exceeding all relevant emissions standards.

And of course, like every Flint automobile, the Blue Ridge is designed and engineered to the highest standards of quality and durability.

Flint Motors. Quality First.

It’s starting to look like moat submissions will be based on the same body

Only been two on the same body so far lol

Does the calculus of SVC vs consumption apply, and if so, with what assumptions? Other things held constant, if read literally, a turbodiesel that costs 1700/year to maintain doesn’t stand a chance against a gasser that costs 1100, even if the former gets 17mpg where the latter gets 11. It sounds like David and family drive a fair amount per year? At $4/gal, the total running costs of the two equal out after 4675 miles, and that’s before towing is factored in.

Also, is the Comfort stat read as is, or does individual seating improve family relations - and therefore comfort - even though the stat decreases?

For the first part, ill have to think on it, but thinking of some sort of multiplier with reliability, if an engine is more reliable then it doesnt need as much servicing, even if those services are more costly, but ill have to do some figuring and thinking.
But this late in with half a dozen subs already im not sure how much i want to change the rules as set out

As for the latter part, the preference will be to 3 rows, i shouldve made that clearer to be honest.
Ill probably give a bonus to comfort with those 3 rows but again i dont want to make a major change up this late in.
i will say though that resubmissions are allowed, and add that, if i do make such changes but ill have to think about it

I’ll have to see how easy it will be to change my interior to 3 rows. I just realized I modelled an entire interior for mine lol. If I can change my seat count it will have to be in stats only.

I’m kind of on vacation and away from my computer right now, but I’ll see what I can do.

I beleive I sent mine in with 2 rows as well.

Am I the only one that has made a purpose built 3 row so far?

No, mine’s also 3 rows.

Im still in process

My car will be a bit rushed, so I don’t expect to rank well on this one. It’s nearly finished.

The Primus an outdated behemoth that is too upmarket, the Cavaliere a nice ride but as practical as an italian slipper… time to make a speedbuild!

The Yamaguchi Sherpa is facelifted for 2003, and it offers what it always did: Excellent reliabilitiy and value. Good practicality despite small dimensions make it the alternative for those that buy what they need for life, not what their neighbour needs to be impressed.

Functionality also inside, and it´s rugged but still comes with a CD player, leather upholstery, wood trim and - new for 2003 - ESC.

How many hours left for the deadline? I wish there was a time zone mentioned, because my free time will be kind of short, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it, considering what’s going on with me in real life.

The deadline is still on September 1st (which I’m assuming is anywhere on Earth) - you still have a day or two left.
