The Car Shopping Round (Round 64): Tears in Heaven

Simple: super sedan.

Dont really have the time to make something else now so im just going to sit out this round

Ehh, might still be worth submitting as a wildcard, even if you know it will get eliminated. Give the Tatum Heights Police Department something fun to do this weekend :stuck_out_tongue:

are you making a hatchback?

No. And by the way, I’m not submitting that $10000 car either

Can you give spoilers on what the car that is going to destroy us all will be like?

Nah, it’s not really any better than anything that has been posted, just different

God. My car is so out, it’s just too average in every stat, and costs too much. And 3k in running costs are insane.

my biggest mystery of today. why does front wheel drive cars have such big transmission tunnels.

sitting inside a VW passat the 5th person would be uncomfortable because there is no legroom for him/her

That running cost total includes insurance, which is why I only gave the service costs. As a police car that figure would be higher than Automation quotes because of mileage.

The police won’t need to get quotes for individual vehicles. They’d have a policy of X cars, Y vans and Z motorcycles.

Well that’s my understanding anyway.

When I saw the screenshots of that sub-$10k car, I was, quite frankly, horrified. Building something more suited to the third world than Tatum Heights was never on my agenda; I instead chose to build and submit a car costing just under $20k. I could even have given it partial aluminum panels to save some cost and weight, but ended up sticking with corrosion-resistant steel for the sake of safety.

@UnderlovedGhost it is possible to build and submit a car costing $25k after markups, but the extra cost means that only 10 cars in the existing fleet will be replaced, although if that car turns out to be really good it shouldn’t be a problem.

I dunno, replacing just 10 cars leaves 12 shitboxes and 3 sort of ok cars. That’s hardly going to be considered a great investment unless those ten cars can effectively do twice as much as the cars they do replace.

While I haven’t actually given this challenge a serious go due to no time, I think I’m going to start asking @phale for stat maxing lessons :joy:

I think we all should ask him for such lessons

Well, first thing I discovered is that one’s car is lighter and cheaper with partial alu panels than corrosion resistant steel. And you don’t even lose any environmental resistance. What’s up with that.

Whos car? Not mine, I haven’t even decided it’s construction nor have I revealed it…

Edited my post to use Queen’s English, that way it makes proper sense :stuck_out_tongue:
