Not necessarily true.
Stage 1: learning that partial aluminum is better than steel
Stage 2: learning that, wait, actually steel is better

lore wise, for police car a aluminium door wont be strong as steel door
in game stats wise, it doesnt matter, partly aluminium panels do the same as anti corrosion steel and much lighter
this is the dilemma since im guessing what round master need not the best compromise for the stats(unrelated, everytime im trying to compromise anything goes badly)
I’m not really sure why you would say this? The lore wise aspect is reflected perfectly in-game…
I’m just wondering where everybody’s utility has gone… Nearly every car thus far has been Unibody, double wishbone, etc… Did I overvalue utility? I went body on frame/Solid Axle…
It’s a difficult tradeoff, which makes the challenge all the more interesting.
The other thing I noticed, it’s easy to double utility by using a wagon variant, however, I simply don’t see much in the way of wagon cop cars, ever, unless they’re paddy wagons which have quite a different purpose. I’m not sure what Bob is going to do with using a wagon to boost utility and practicality, because it comes at virtually no tradeoff except very slightly worse fuel economy.
trying taking realistic(not sure the right word) aspect here plus the safety, aluminium is not strong as steel especially if you put on stress it.
for police car you want it to be strong as possible, yes you cant stop any projectile only using lets say about 4-5 mm thick steel panels especially bigger caliber one. however for car chase with possibility involving body contact i would say steel will stay in shape better than aluminium, for proof just look at their safety rating which basically partial aluminium only have average safety rating while steel have high safety rating.
my approach basically trying to get highest safety stats as possible which sound stupid maybe if i would prefer the more expensive and heavier steel panel just for extra 4 point safety and hurting the overall stats
Yep you said it exactly. Steel is stronger which means it gets better safety, at the cost of weight. That’s how it is in real life and that’s how it is in game.
@Strop actually there are plenty of wagon cop cars. It’s just that they look like this:
well, yes, but that’s SUV sized, whereas I’m talking submitting something more akin to a Subaru Outback you know what I mean.
i mean, we use Volvo’s V70’s in my country
where i live we have vw polo , vw jetta police. all of them either sdi or tdi
Well seems it’s just Australia that seems to lack them then! This doesn’t make the choice any easier
Well apparently, the Golf R Wagon is one of the rumoured front-runners to replace the Commodores and Falcons once they end production here.
I tried going with a wagon variant, it actually didn’t provide that significant a boost in Utility, only about 4 or so, because all wagon bodies are smaller than the sedan I chose. (Which, surprisingly wasn’t the Crown Vic body.) If you drag out the trunk to near as much as you can, and pull the cabin back, you can get surprisingly close to what a wagon provides. It makes your car look like an ugly bean, but it works.
i wanted to go with a 5 or so meters wagon but that thing would hardly go around in a city and corners. it would need four wheel steering
unfortunately, i cant manage to get the cool police style going. anyway, here is the Vichingo Utility:
it was designed under a few premises:
the vichingo’s body can best be described as a minivan. the Utility version of the car is a FWD with a transversely mounted 1699 cc inline 3 engine producing 155 hp. the mac pherson strut on the front and torsion beam on the rear are compact and light. the van shape allows for much space for up to 5 passengers and still has a cargo volume of 904l. equipped with an automatic transmission, this car only weighs 1114.7 kg (excluding any special purpose equipemnt). thanks to the lightweight design, the car reaches 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds and tops at 200 km/h. all of this at the unbeatable price of 11880,- $
If it bottoms out over a curb you know you’re doing something wrong.
StanceCops
In my mind, that’s just min maxing, clicking random things and see if they get good results. There is nothing special bout it. Automation as a game is meant to…errr…uhhhh…well shit. Good job, @phale
Deadline will be 1:00 PM EST Tomorrow. My weekend looks like it may be rather busy so I may take some time with reviews.
Also, revisions will be fine so long as they are submitted before the deadline.
