I got this far…
then decided to go with a tweaked production model instead
EDIT: Like this
How do you get the pic without the background in it?

It’s finally here!
We snatched a coupe off our sensible compact Torrent line, and gutted it!
With a passionate eye for track day shenanigans, that you can drive home on the road legally from, we put together the Torrent XX. (She’s affectionately gained the name Double Cross)
And when we say gutted it, we mean GUTTED it. You won’t find any power steering, ABS or traction control here. There’s no room for any of that under the hood after we squeezed in a 2.5 Litre Twin Turbo V8. Small price to pay for 341 Horsepower right? Don’t fret, massive sticky summer tires front and rear are there to plant the power and a geared LSD is on tap to keep cornering serious business.
Aggressive chin and rear spoilers help keep her planted at high speeds, and the Double Wishbone front suspension working in tandem with the 5 Point MultiLink rear suspension help lay down some incredible grip, even as you pass through 200 kph! To save on weight some of the body’s steel panels are replaced with Aluminum, the back seats have been removed (they didn’t fit after we fitted the roll cage anyway), and we’ve outfitted only the basicest of niceties (A/C is heavy, it had to go too.) But when the twin variable valve timing opens up the secondaries and that Bronson V8 sings the song of it’s people, you’ll want to have the windows down anyway.
A full lighting package, High flow catalytic converter, and 8 kph bumpers make this car street legal in North America, so you can drive to the track and home again. The six speed close ratio transmission keeps you in the power and boost bands on every shift, and you can ring her out right to the 8200 rpm red line.
So enjoy your day at the track, and remember to give all your mates the Dirty Double Cross.
I was kind of going for a Ham fisted SRT4 Caliber of the early nineties type thing here. Anyone who wants to drive it should probably lift weights a little first, hahaha.
The “It’s made out of firetrucks and nukes!” approach to the compact sports coupe.
##Zast Arsiros R2500 - Track-ready monster
##Overview The Zast Arsiros is a car made in the 90s where technology are advancing to make cars faster and efficient. It took advantage of every single tech available at the time to make a car that can devastate track cars while stock. ##Engine The engine in question is a 2.5L/2500cc Inline-6 named R2500, 2500 obviously the size of the engine. The engine is turbocharged to make a whooping 381hp and 352Nm without atrocious economy thanks to Variable Valve Lift which was introduced at the time of the build. ##Exterior and Interior
If you expecting a normal car, this isn't the car for the job because everything has been built to make a street legal track day car.everything in the Interior is set to a basic standard so as to reduce weight.Active aero helps the car go faster in the straights and turns better in the corners which coupled with an automatic locker (as during testing, the car was actually slower in the AT track with a geared LSD) will help it make an easier car to convert to a racer.
Is that allowed in the current rule set? By the way, my entry is not equipped with it (and could never have been, given that I set the trim year for it to 1985 - well before active wings become available).
Couple of questions:
- Driving aids?
- Tyre width limitations, and tyre quality limitations?
Is it right to assume that the engine year has to be the same as the car trim year?
Driving aids are optional, but as i’ve repeatedly said, the JET-team likes sensible, and balanced cars. With 1150 kg and 300 + hp it sure seems fine to have at least power steering and ABS
Tyre width limitation is not there, but as i stated above, economy is a factor, as is tyrewear and balance. Sure, 265 + width gives lots of grip, but at the same time, cost a lot more to stock up for an endurance race.
@abg7 i didn’t say anything about active aero except that 2 lips and one wing and undertray were allowed. This doesn’t rule out active aero per se, but at the same time, i don’t think it’s a sensible choice. As i don’t want to change the rules anymore, i let it stay as is.
@Dragawn your assumtion is right.
We did some testing with a prototype RR2500 Extreme engine for the Arsiros
Lap time (ATT):
Unfortunately,It was too much of a gas guzzler,so the plan was abandoned and stuck with the original R2500 engine
Ok thanks sounds reasonable!
Like Dragawn I’m going to have to tone it down a bit, definitely 2:10 is easy enough to get with a 400hp i6
with fuel economy to spare (not even going all out on the turbo there), but I’m sure the team’s looking for something a bit more consistent and budget and wear friendly!
Side comment as I’ve been designing a car for this:
Due to the unfortunate way gearboxes are implemented in Automation, where the gearbox weight is automatically determined based on current engine torque, it isn’t possible to truly design an ‘overbuilt’ gearbox that could reliably take extra torque from reprogramming an ECU (quality sliders affect other factors and have no indication of torque tolerance). When you detune the engine the gearbox becomes lighter, upsetting handling as well.
Seems to me like you are choking the engine… having the redline @ peak power is not the most effective way, if you up the redline 2-3 or sometimes even 500 rpm you’ll get better throttle response and better use of the power.
As seen in your local variant of Autotrader/Gumtree/Carsales etc.
1985 Bogliq Coyote Turbo - $12,500 ono

Bought it from new in August 1985 and I have daily driven it ever since.
Serviced every 5,000Km with only genuine parts and I will include a roadworthy certificate on sale of vehicle.
Car has rare Leeroy Racing engine, gearbox, locking differential and race spec suspension so I’m not negotiable on the price; you’re getting a LOT of car for your money!
Regretful sale, first to see will buy, $12,500 ono

EcaMobile: Bringing unconventional driving experiences near you.
Damn I was hoping nobody else would discover the wonders of cramming AWD into a little hatch
But I think our approaches will be sufficiently distinctive so as not to be redundant.
edit: I’m working late tomorrow, is it ok if I submit like 3 hours late?
3 hours is ok.
