UE4 Open Beta Body + Variant Issues list

Likely an issue with bounds on the 1.55m body, as it shouldn’t be that much wider than a comparably sized body

Bounds are no longer within the modelling process, they are automatically calculated by the game now, so it will be to do with the sizing of the car such as Lanson says

Not a bug, but I have a suggestion for 76_EU body paint slots (with images and hex codes) as I couldn’t replicate special edition two-tone paints in the game.

The 3-door version of this one has +2 rear seats, whereas the 5-door has regular 3 rear seats. For a 2.36m wb car, I’d say regular 3 seats for all is fair, esp. since there is an even smaller sibling with +2 seats already.

This body above has the same small engine bay size as the one below:

Unlike in 4.1, the largest V12 I could fit into it was quite small, at 4.0L, but it could somehow still hold a 6.0L V8:

Oddly, in 4.1 the longer of these two bodies had a much larger engine bay - enough to hold a V12 displacing 6.0L or more. I think the LWB version should have its engine bay enlarged back to its former size.

Body shown has weird tire problems which I can’t have any tire diameter (for both tires) above or below 650.

Asymmetrical UVs, as tested with the vanilla round cutout patch (original fixture on left, mirror on right).

Some weird UV issues happening once you place a rear spoiler on the following body:

Edit: Trying to fix it with conforming dogtape just moves the issue to the seams of the dogtape…

The CPillarWidth morph doesn’t morph the base of the C pillar, leading to this unfortunate imitation of a Hofmeister kink…

Once the C pillar is sufficiently slanted, the lines align, but this behaviour leaves the CPillarWidth morph with a very limited usable range.

(It is the underbody, I can make it transparent in paint but the ‘damage’ remains. Only happens to the convertible.)

New post in my old post since there apparently cannot be 3 consecutive replies:

More UV shenanigans (but only on the mirrored side, the original one on the other side is fine):

front fender morphs on this set of bodies are broken, applies to the larger wheelbase variants as well

Seam bug is present in a 3-door fastback variant of 2.54 m wheelbase 1985 Juliet (85_EU_Fastback_3door_M).

Other variants and wheelbases are unaffected, such as a 3-door fastback variant of 2.68 m wheelbase 1985 Juliet (85_EU_Fastback_3door_L pictured below).

I’m here just to notify that the current update has yet to fix this issue.

78_US_sedan_alt_XL (3.0m wheelbase)

The game thinks that this is a L-FWD layout. I disagree.

white wheel wells
can’t paint em black (the color they usually are, I think some sort of plastic material)

ok, so the problem has been fixed on some of the wheelbases but the 2.3m wheelbase one is still broken…

Why is the panel variant of this still lacking morphing possibilities after years?

The Indicator body set (2.85m wheelbase shown) may need a greater range for its RearLength (trunk) morphing zone, which I find to be a bit too short at present:

Another minor issue is that the roll angle is a bit on the high side unless the ride height is lowered considerably and/or the suspension is significantly stiffened - a potential hindrance with comfort-focused builds. Most significantly of all, however, this is the largest 90-degree DOHC 4v V8 engine that can fit in right now (other sizes have lower or higher engine width limits):

Given that other similarly sized bodies generally have (much) wider engine bays capable of accommodating even bigger V8s, it would make sense to widen the ones in the Indicator body sets.

By the way, what is the Indicator body set meant to resemble the most, and what real-life car body is the Indicator name a reference to?

The BMW E3x / E4x. The “Indicator” bit is a reference to everyone’s favourite stereotype for North American drivers of German cars.

Spot on! They actually do look like an E39 or E46 superficially - especially when you tweak the morphs to make the resemblance even stronger.

As for the '84 Commoner body sets, I’m sure they resemble a VN-VS Commodore (hence the similar-sounding name), as well as the Omega/Carlton A with which they share some components.

On that note, I would like to see an extra morphing zone on those, for the rear wheel arch:

This zone can be moved up or down; with the former, you can make it more circular, to make it more closely resemble the VR/VS Commodore (itself an extensive rework of the VN/VP) from the side.
